Yes I do. However, I didn't just get it because I love metroid. You see, my brother has gotten a tattoo with each of his brothers and so I thought about it for a long time and decided on a metroid tattoo. For more reasons than one. First of all, I simply love metroid, second of all I remember being a little kid ( 3-4-5-6 years old ) and I'd play and he would sit down and watch me and help me out. One of my earliest memories is playing metroid with him and my other brothers.

That also means that he'll be getting the same tattoo. I'll post a picture later!

I recently submitted my tattoo to the site. I showed a tattoo artist one random Metroid Metal picture of a Metroid wearing headphones. I told him I kind of wanted a more 'realistic' approach to it. I've seen some great tattoos with the classic Metroid design that look fairly realistic... but he took it off in a new direction where it was this gnarly and nasty looking creature. I really liked it. But at the same time I was saddened a little by the loss of what the original Metroid was. So now I'm seriously considering two sleeves where is this guy's redesigns of Metroid characters/scenarios while the other is a bunch of well done classic images. If mine doesn't get uploaded soon I could upload it for anyone interested in seeing.

Small point of concern, though. Are those red spotches intentional, or were you still healing?

Yeah, that was when I was healing. They're much lighter now. I think that picture was taken the day I got the tattoo so it was all a bit inflamed.

Yeah, there is still a small splotch of darkness there. We've talked about doing the entire sleeve so it's kind of going to be like the ending scene in Super Metroid with the baby and all... so there is going to be a dark background behind the Metroid. It's to make it look a bit translucent when the whole thing is done.
