This is where this goes... right?

Alright so at my school we just got finished with first trimester exams. Since I am allowed to listen to music during some of these (and after some of them) and even if I'm not my long hair hides it anyway... I decided I'd pass the time by listening to the "Harmony of a Hunter: The 101% Run" album. During one of these exams I randomly got the idea for a stupid... uh... I hate calling it this but a "fanfiction" I guess.
Keep in mind that I don't plan on pursuing writing as a career so I'm not excellent at it, I just wanted some thoughts on what I have so far.
Short summary: A GF trooper is chosen to go on a very special mission; he is instructed to join the Space Pirates in order to reveal all of their plans and whatnot to the Galactic Federation.
It's nowhere close to being finished, but I just wanted some thoughts on it. Not necessarily on the story itself but my writing ability in general.

I wake up and start my day as usual. I crawl out of bed, wishing I could have its warm embrace around me all day. I go to the washroom, take a shower, brush my teeth, comb my hair, you know; the usual stuff.
After I'm finished with my morning routine, I head over to the mess hall, I see a close friend of mine there; Micheal Sullivan. We'd been friends since we were just 7 years old and had both dreamed of joining the Galactic Federation when we were older. Well, we were finally living the dream. And let me tell you, the dream wasn't all that it had cracked up to be.
Sure I had become the highest ranking officer in my squad, everyone respected me and I got respect even from the higher officers. But the work I had to do to get to that position? I'd rather not talk about it. Let's just say it was one of the worst experiences of my life and leave it at that.
Anyway, after breakfast Micheal and I parted ways, I had been called to the Cheif Commander's office during breakfast and had been instructed to go as soon as possible. The cheif told me that I had been chosen to go on a very special mission, it was very risky, but it may just be the perfect way to stop the Space Pirates once and for all. No one had ever tried something as risky as this, everyone thought it would be a suicide mission, they'd be slaughtered and served up as dinner for the Pirates for sure! But not me. Sure, the thought of heading into a pirate base and having a high chance of being killed didn't exactly sound too pleasant to me, but I also wanted to see if it was even possible to accomplish a mission like this. The commander looked me straight in the eyes and gave it to me quick. He told me that I had been chosen to attempt to infiltrate the Space Pirates by joining their militia.
Most people would've called me nuts. "There's no way they'd let a human join the pirates! They hate us!" Well fine, think that way if you want. I was determined to prove them all wrong. I was going to be the first to do it and succeed. Maybe then we would be able to rid the universe of them forever.
From here on out is the diary of me, Jonathon Harley, in my attempts to infiltrate the Space Pirate militia.

Day 1
Dammit. I don't think this plan will work. They expect me to get sympathy from the Pirates?! I don't think so. Not to mention the pain I'm in is immense. The other troops basically beat me to make it look like someone had taken me and thrown me out, then stuffed me in a puny escape pod and tossed me into space... dear god I can barely write! I don't know who thought the pirates would take sympathy on me but I hope it works...
...well god dammit. It worked. I don't know well but my escape pod "landed" on one of their vessels. When they came out to check on it they saw me. I was only half concious so I don't remember what happened exactly. All I remember is being brought in front of a much larger "head pirate" so to speak. They were speaking in loud growls and snarls so I couldn't understand. I'm writing in my cell right now hoping that they don't decide to slice me up and have me for dinner. It's getting late... so I think it's safe to sleep now. I'll write more tomorrow.
