Minitroid is a fan-game I started to get familiar with Scirra Construct. It was intended to be a mini, action packed Metroid II spoof, but it seems the game has taken a different route XD There's no solid plot yet, but I'm making progress. Anyway, here are some videos!

Minitroid Preview 2

Minitroid Preview 3

Minitroid Preview 4

That looks pretty cool, actually! Hell, I'd play it. The gun firing and stuff blowing up is a little loud, though.

Look in the YouTube description, IE. It's mentioned there.

I'm impressed. That looks like a fun little game.

That does indeed look like a fun and highly playable game. I would love to see you finish and release it. I agree that blocks dying is too loud and you should probably include separate music/sfx volume bars. Also, the destructible blocks should be marked in some way to show that they are destructible unless they are specifically secret. Samus clipping through ceilings is a bit uncool and it would be nice if you found a way to fix that strange graphic. Finally, I would love to see a tiny morph ball and half-block sized corridors for it to travel through.

Great start! Please continue!

I'm really interested in the water spouts that launch Samus. I hope you make those apart of the strategy of moving around. Maybe you can turn the block the launches the water spout onto it's side and jump ahead of the water and it pushes Samus across to the other side, and avoid the lava completely. As they are right now, they seem like they put in for fun. It looks great-- keep it up! <3

Thanks! I agree with some of the sound effects being too loud; I'll probably end up making new ones. The tiles will be moved behind Samus so they don't overlap her head or anything. The destructible blocks are "marked", actually; Some are cracked (not in any of the videos yet) and others have a distinct look. The water spouts are mostly for fun but you will be required to use them in some areas.

My hat if off to you bud, that looks really good. I do agree some of the sound effects are a bit loud, but that's nothing a few music/sfx volume bars won't fix. I really hope you finish this.

I think the existing breaking sound effects are pretty good, just a bit loud (compared to some of the others). That's fairly easy to fix with an audio editor, or just set the volume of the effect at playback if the audio API you're using permits that.

Reminds me of Cave Story. And that's really cool.

Also, those blue pixel blocks are the saddest sprite tiles I have ever seen.

Haha, yeah someone else also pointed out that the blue block tiles have sad faces on them. I never noticed. Now they're EVERYWHERE! I'll mess with em, or just make them smiley faces :D
