Metroid: Other M: The reMovie & Other Works by Zeroº

Nothing but spoilers for those who have not yet played the game!

Ladies and Anthonies, allow me to grace your eyeballs with a creative endeavor of mine. I've taken Other M's Theater Mode (Japanese version), and added my own subtitles. My goal was to rewrite it into something a bit more... interesting. I am pleased with how it is currently going, but the true judge of it will be the Metroid-loving masses.

So without further ado, I present parts 1 & 2. I will post the next parts here as I complete them.

This is awesome. It's much more dramatic than the original, funnier, and even makes a lot more sense. The characterizations of most of the characters are better in your version and I especially like some of Anthony's lines. Not that he needed the help mind you, but it's fun non-the-less.

On a critical note, your dialogue is sometimes badly written. It's no where near as bad as the source material, but there is a lot of repetition in the phrasing and sometimes the vocabulary seems a bit limited. A few parts of it just sound very unnatural and not like something that someone would say either. Not bad, but room for improvement.

Well... I am trying to write within the confines of a previously completed work without straying too far from what is being shown and said, so there's not a whole lot of wiggle room for extravagant displays of an extended vocabulary and good dialogue. Also, I am trying to not ignore it when someone says something in English, which seems to happen every so often, and that tends to muck things up.

As for the unnatural way of speaking, well, I blame that on them being from the distant future.

I didn't think this was possible, but I laughed even harder at your version of the thumbs down scene than I did at the original. The part where she's talking about what an idiot Adam is as the camera hangs onto him was also great, though it saddens me that Samus didn't comment on the picture of her and Ian.

As soon as Adam said that he liked cute fuzzy things, I knew you had something hilarious planned for Choogle. I was not disappointed; the way she walked away from it after getting his instructions to capture it was priceless.

In the way of constructive criticism though; while both the Pokemon references and the "gb2kitchen" jokes were funny at first, I think they've started to overstay their welcome. I'd go easy on those two for an episode or three.

In any event, this is totally awesome and I can't wait for part three. Man, Adam's going to be pissed when his present splits open...

Considering as how the area where the kitchen might be blows up pretty quickly, I don't think we are going hear too much more about kitchens. Those kinds of jokes should also be fading now that Samus is done with her 'I'm back in action for the first time in a while' shtick.

The Pokemon references will definitely be taking a step to the side for a while, but there is one glaringly obvious one that is about to come up. And I'm sure we all know what that is. But don't worry, I'll try to handle it subtly. Emphasis on try...

Also, if you take a close look at the picture with Ian (which, I'll admit, I did miss a chance for Samus to touch upon), you can see Adam in the back looking up and into the distance. It's almost as though he's trying to figure something out... Might it be one of the Master of Subtlety's jokes?

And one last thing: We are not, at this point, entirely certain that Choogle is Adam's present. It just fits the supposed bill because it's cute and cuddly (well, for now).

Goddamn awesome! I've only watched the first one, and lets say I started watching it with apprehension (a lot of these are quite crudely done) but it was pretty awesome. A few parts actually made me laugh out loud.... which is not an easy feat
Well done, I look forward to watching more when I've actually got some study done.......

As a pokemon geek, I found the references good, but the others are right, dont go overboard, no matter how much Ridley should be caught!

All in all, I'm giving it a 9.8.

Somebody has to make an Other M ROM hack that includes these subtitles, and this plot should be considered canon instead.

I agree that was awesome. Also the Brinstar music was a great touch. My second favorite thing was the Pokemon portion that was great-- I liked how Samus had to figure out how she could smell through her suit-- Some of the jokes really worked well.

Glad you guys are liking it so far. And I do hope that people liked the melodious additions, it just seemed so natural and fitting. I plan on doing it again when appropriate...

Sadly, I'm really not sure just how long it's gonna take to get part 3 out, because I've sort of hit a word block right at the front... And it's just one stupid sentence that is evading me. Grrr.. Stupid awesome Anthony... Never mind, I just floored it and flew right over that speed bump. But still, part 3 will take a little time to get out.

As for the overuse of certain types of jokes, don't worry, 'cause it's starting to look as though each part is going to have a different theme (for the most part).

Love how you actually make Adam the good guy in this. Samus is a real asshole.

And this Madeline plot.. oh man. This is so much better then the story in Other M, fucking christ.
