I thought it was worth a chuckle at least :P

Y'know the most retarded thing about that commercial? The fact that in goes a doberman, and out comes a chihuahua. WHY WOULDN'T THEY USE A MINIATURE PINSCHER!? The coloring isn't even the same!

Yeah. Japanese Super Metroid commercial ftw.

Chihuahuas look a lot more frail and helpless than miniature Pinschers, though. They always tremble and have that oh-please-don't-eat-me look on their faces.

But (and this was brought up by Hiroshi) nintendo commercials from that era (and the one before it) in general sucked.

ZELDA!!

ZELLLDAAAAAA!!!!

ZELDA?

LEEVERS!

They were funny, yes, but that's because they were bad.

I think it is possible for Metroid to take the limelight.
Just give it as much advertising as Super Mario Sunshine at the very least, and you got yourself a hit.

But as for news, I can say you have things organized very neatly.

Now, is the top thing only for features, or just for whatever you feel like?

I actually found the old Zelda commercial where he's calling out ZEELLLDAAA all the time to be rather amusing for some reason when I was a kid. It didn't do anything to make me get the game (that's what Nintendo Power was for back then).

... Wow so the website is getting deleted? And the forum too?

I hope everythings backed up for it. Im pretty sure it is.

As for our posts on the forum.... well isn't the forum part of the website? Meaning the forum will be deleted too? Is there anyway to back up all the posts and such?

The website won't be deleted because one way or another we'll be moving. The site's been backed up too, btw. The forum is part of the site, but has to be backed up separately.

I read the MDb news quite alot and am always looking for updates I hope this site doesn't get shredded though.

And in that Metroid Fusion Commercial, I'm almost definitely sure it was a guy in the fusion suit, but it's cool you get to see the SA-X.

The most annoying thing is that URLs are going to change, breaking everyone's links.

True, that will really be annoying. But hey. The current MDb is blocked at my school, but with the change of servers, I might get some post time after doing my Java exercises (like I need any more post time).

Well, here's the plan:

We have until August 31 before they dump us out on the curb.
We're going to move to our new host as soon as we can, site first and then the board.
The beautiful about using PHP to tie the whole website together is that it'll make forwarding links extremely easy. I originally put it together with the idea that this could happen some day. For any section of the main site, it'll have a notice to update your bookmarks.

Between now and the end of August, that should be enough time for most people and search engines to update themselves.

I'll then get the board systematically moved over. This part's a little bit involved but it won't delete anything. Aside from an hour or so of downtime and a new URL, the move should be otherwise transparent to you guys.

Our file hosting with FilePlanet will still be available to us, so fortunately we won't have to deal with that whole mess.

But in the end, nothing will be deleted and this board will be safely moved to a new host, so there is absolutely nothing for you guys to worry about.

Other than maybe boycotting IGN.
