Heh heh heh

I'm glad the ace wizzes at MDB were able to debunk those fakes; I may have seen a few shops in my time, but they looked pretty legit to me.

I thought it was an interesting coincedence that Hulu retro'd their front page as well, back to 1999. I was a little confused when I first went to check my queue yesterday. XD

Also, Minitroid looks AWESOME! I really hope that's not a lingering AFD joke.

I noticed that IGN has picked up on the Minitroid fun. They seem to expect a "cease and desist" issue, though. Has Nintendo ever actually done that to a fan game?

Only one that I know of: Pokemon Online. And they had REALLY good reason to close that one.
It's just a meme that these inexperienced bloggers like to pass around. Pay it no mind.

Read this article to get a little more insight on how Nintendo feels about fan projects.

I sure hope that's the case, because if nintendo ever orders a cease and desist to my Armstrong Houston fangame this I'll be pretty sad.

Oh, I wasn't worried, just curious. I know that the fan-made Chrono Trigger remake was shut down, but that wasn't Nintendo. I get that Nintendo practically encourages fan projects, especially since they have so many first-party games that let players create their own. Of course the question there is, would Nintendo ever pick up a fan game and make it official? coughSR388cough Unlikely, though. :|

New Post: I'm surprised I was the last to comment in here. Anyway, on the recent patent discovery; I didn't realize that one had to get a patent on gameplay. o_O

In one of the games playable on the Wii U, one player controls Samus's ship while the other control their Mii dressed in a Chozo suit, and Metroid music plays on the intro and in the background. The name of the game has no mention of Metroid, however.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo decided to celebrate Metroid's 25th next year so they could focus better on Zelda now. If next year is to Metroid what this year was to Zelda, I think we're in for a big treat (though I doubt it'll include a friggin' orchestra). They could at least tell us, though.

Metroid is more popular here in the states than in Japan, anyway. Isn't it?

Harmony of a Hunter is looking great.

Making me really wish I contributed to it when I had the chance :geemer:

Oh well, I was working on two other remix albums at the time (Dynamite Headdy and Oracle of Seasons), so I didn't think I could go for another (though I definitely did try to do something with the Luminoth theme- it just never went anywhere).

my DH remix that sucks

Now that I think about it, if I worked for a solid week on a single effort, I think i finally have enough skill to do a metroid remix.

Not in time for an album. But you never need a specific date to remake Metroid music!
