First, congrats to the winners. I may have had the wrong impression when I came up with my idea. I guess it's a good thing I never entered.

Anyway, I don't mean to be a butt or anything, but

... to whomever set up the contest page, um, "Ascention Suit"? Interesting typo. Does the suit emit a wide array of various odors to fight off beasties?

Is there a Minty Fresh beam or Pine beam? Or is it more of a repellant system with, for instance, a Rancid Cheese beam or Fermented Used Diapers beam?

I'm sorry. I may have gone too far with that. It just struck me as funny. It made my brain burn.

I mean, I could go on.....

I'm pretty much doing an acrylic-on-canvas painting of MP3 Samus. Pretty much looks like a normal painting so far, not sure what else I will do with it yet...sucks that I have pregnancy brain working against me.

Would it be possible to enter a .swf (flash)? I'd like to enter a scene were the camera is still but there are pulsating lights, rippling water, and turning gears.Would this be acceptable?

I'm going to say I'll allow it, but being animated may not give you an advantage over anyone else, just so you know.

You can submit a flash, but as the rules say, make sure to pick a still from your video to go with it.

I'm kinda uneasy on the style requirements for this contest. I can create a unique scene without trouble, but I want to get a better idea of the direction regarding style and how I need to adjust.

Obviously, that art resembles realism, even if there are outlines. All of Samus's features are normal, as is Nightmare's. Nothing about this art is different, new, or original than most fanart we've seen out there. In other words, try harder. We want to see stuff that is distinctly stylistically different than realism, or any of the promotional or conceptual art for the games. Hope that helps.

And for future reference, please do not post any more of your artwork here. You are "competing" against other entrants, remember? If you're going to make a submission, email it to us.

Someone should make Samus Wind Waker style.

The Legend of Zelda is actually a good reference for this competition. Notice how vastly different the art styles for most games are. I guess something like that is what the admins are aiming for here.

I have no talent for visual art, so I won't even bother. Good luck, guys!

I have a hard time seeing how Other M is ANYTHING like Wind Waker. Thematically, gameplay-wise, graphically... So yeah, just, uh, kind of talking out your ass there.

I'm new to this forum, so apologizes if i'm stating something that has already been discussed
I have a question about people entering the contest that do not live in the US.

I have read all the rules about the contest, and i'm interested in entering this contest.
However of course i'm from Canada therefore i can not win any if the prizes because shipping is expensive.
My question now is, if the international persons artwork was good enough of a prize, could you maybe offer them to just pay for the shipping?
Frankly i wouldn't mind (if i possibly won [probably won't]) paying for the shipping to have the package sent to Canada.
