After watching the video in the article on the front page, all I can say is...

Man am I glad they listened to NOA.

Interesting interview though. What do you guys think?

Yeah, I think we had an overall better product as a result. However, we might have gotten Justin Bailey instead of Zero Suit :)

I am, however, curious what the chibi Ridley design looked like. There's screens of chunky Kraid out there, so you gotta wonder if Ridley changed at all, too.

Good question. I would like to see it, if it exists. Just out of curiosity.

As for Justin Bailey... would've been interesting, but all the ZSS haters would probably be even more enraged that she's actually showing skin now and how "it's not functional", etc.

I think ZSS haters would have been just fine with Justin Bailey, because it means the Zero Suit would have never existed.

Doh.

But I meant that if they're complaining about a non functional "sexy suit" wouldn't their reaction to a bikini be more intense?

It would have been a cutesy super deformed Justin Bailey though. I can't really see that inspiring ~10 years of terrible fan art.

Justin Bailey is an easter egg reward for the OG Metroid, so it's not that big a deal - as a matter of fact it's cutesy and fun.

Zero Suit was an integral part of the "story" of ZM and the subsequent Metroid game, so it's no gouda.
must be some sorta side effect of the hatchling or maybe she should stop going down on Miyamoto.

I get that, I understand what you guys mean.

I'm just surprised that Zero Suit is hated more for "sexifying" Samus than the bikini/has inspired more creepy fan art.

It's like Zero Mission taught them all the wrong lessons :|
