That's still a pretty neat observation though, having the Quoted 'O' be thinner than the actual 'O'.

I'm surprised I never noticed the quoted text uses a different font from the rest of the site. Looking at the original version of the theme it looks like someone changed the font of the board but either didn't remember or want to do the same for the quoted text.

I think the font is just a smaller size (look at the letters quoted versus responses), which is why everything's thinner

It's tricky to spot because both typefaces are so similar, but there are a few give aways.
