Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?I got MGS3D a few weeks ago, but haven't got around to playing it. Most people say it's the best of the series, though I've heard the boss fights are pretty lame.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?@Emperor Ing: When I first came across the Burning Rangers theme in Phantasy Star Online it hit me completely out of left field. Never having heard of the game before the only thing that came to mind was the image of firefighters... on fire. The fact it plays during a mission where you're left to single-handedly extinguish a forest fire, by attacking the flames, only seemed to reinforce the audacity of it all. Would love to get a chance to play it someday.
In other news: Just finished my first run through of Star Ocean: First Departure. A fun and charming little JRPG on the PSP with a nice retro look and feel, appropriate as it's a remake of a SNES classic. Planning on another run as I play through the sequal, Second Evolution. Now that I've fallen back in with my PSP, ironic as it is what with the release of the Vita, I'm looking for more to play on it. At present I own and have (mostly) completed:
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Mega Man Maverick Hunter X Mega Man Powered Up Phantasy Star Portable Phantasy Star Portable 2 Valkyrie Profile Lenneth Not much, I know, so give me something else to play on the damned thing! Suggestions? The last metroid is in captivity. All's well in the galaxy.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?I started Borderlands as Mordecai the Hunter. Between racking up super satisfying headshots and using a killer pet bird I've fallen in love.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?Got past Fatman and the Harrier recently in MGS2, so far I'm enjoying it a lot, I think Raiden's... okay.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?A friend convinced me to buy Resident Evil on PSOne Classics today and holy cow is it intense. The controls to take a lot of getting used to, but at least you don't have to worry too much about them while shooting - but darn is it hard to run with them. D:

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?I had to send the REmake back to GameFly for that same reason Naner. I just couldn't handle the controls, and there was a timed section where you had to run and push statues into these spots while the walls were closing and it just wasn't happening for me. I kept clipping the corner, or going to far out to avoid it and thus missing the allotted time.
Borderlands is incredible. Loving it, especially since I love loot. "I am tired of being under the weight of greedy men who don't believe in anything."

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased? If Naner is playing the original, then he wouldn't be having quite the same problem.
The REmake is harder to control because classic RE controls are NOT meant for analog controls. They're digital all the way. Thus, a dual-shock controller is better for a classic RE than something with just a joystick (or in the GC's case, a joystick with a functionally worthless d-pad). @Apothem: from what I've seen, the game does look pretty crazy. Fighting fire in Sea World, on space barges, etc etc... by shooting lasers into them. It helps that it has crazy anime cutscenes. (another kick-ass song)

Half-Minute Hero Ys Seven/Oath in Felghana Trails in the Sky If you're an RPG lover with a PSP, these are absolute essentials. As for me, I'm addicted to Trials Evolution (aka GOTY 2012 for now). Contact me on Twitter or visit my Twitch.TV channel.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?Emperor Ing- I see. I was playing the Wii port with the classic controller and it never occurred to me to try the d pad. =\

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?Yeah, I'm playing the PSOne Classic using the DualShock 3's D-pad. I tried using the analog stick a few times (since this is the "Director's Cut" edition, it has a big "DUALSHOCK Ver." message in the title screen), but hell no.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?Hmm. Perhaps, a long time from now, I'll rent it again. I got pretty far... Past the sharks, the first Lisa Trevor encounter, killed Plant 42 and the snake... But just needed a break at the very least.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?
Persona 3 Portable and Yggdra Union: We'll Never Fight Alone and you should be good. Been playing some King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match and 2002 Unlimited Match along with some Garou: Mark of the Wolves. All great games. ![]() |

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?I may be getting a Vita soon, so that's something. I'm torn between BB: Continuum Shift Extend and UMvC3. I'm leaning towards UMvC3 simply because I don't have the original so I'm not buying another version of a game I already have (and I have CS II). I'll probably get some PSP games for it once I get a big enough memory card.
