I started playing Moxxi's Underdome whatever in Borderlands and got instantly bored with it. They're pretty much Firefight maps from Halo. Yes I know they came out around the same time and that its not a copy of Firefight but still. In essence, I wasn't going to sit through 3-5 hours of firefight maps by myself. Eventually might play with friends online to blast through it but that's a big if.

So I got back in to Okami, which I rented from GameFly a month and a half ago and hadn't really gotten into it yet so it had been sitting on my shelf untouched while I played Borderlands.

I got through the first full dungeon. I was surprised how long it takes to get there... 6 hours? How big is this game? Unless pause time counts on the game timer, in which case I had some long pauses both now and when I first started playing.

So far its enjoyable, but on the Wii it gets very frustrating when you draw what you think is the symbol you need to use perfectly and it still doesn't read it. Almost rage quit because I had to "rejuvenate" this bridge in the dungeon and nothing worked for the longest time.

I'm a big nut for Mr. Driller now.

The Ds game is fantastic. And I got a backup CD-R of the first game working on my dreamcast (double victory: Mr. Driller plus I know how to get backups working now).

So many blocks and funky music..........

Also got Under Defeat to work as a back-up. I'd like to buy the real thing, but I don't have a JPN-region 360, a PS3, or the $120 necessary to get the price-gouged DC version.
It's a shame because it's easily the best-looking DC game I've ever seen, by far. Looks like a late-gen Xbox game.

Chugging away in Okami.
Got to the point where you enter the Moon Temple and have to collect the ingredients for Orochi's appetizer. Orochi being the main villain, which is confusing
because I'm only 15 hours in, but it feels like I'm at the end. I'm not going to look it up to see if they pull off an A Link to the Past twist, I'm just going to continue tonight after work and see what happens.

I've finally clocked over a hundred hours in Xenoblade! :D (and I still have several dozen more quests to finish and have only gotten Colony 6 upgraded to level 1 :(). So many places to explore, so many to secrets to find; I hope the next metroid game follows a similar theme

^ This is exactly why my copy of the game is still sitting comfortably on my shelf.

As for me... I beat Rayman Origins last weekend, but am still going through L.A. Noire and Borderlands. Guess I've been reading so much on my Kindle I've been forgetting to play more games.

I hope not. One of the reasons I love Metroid is because it's not too complicated.

I think doc was more or less saying he hopes there is a similar level of deep exploration and secret finding.

So... this is mine, right? > :cookie:

So I beat
Orochi
in Okami. Yup, pulled A Link to the Past on me. No I'm at the annual festival and have no idea what I should be doing. I've talked to everyone and Issun won't let me out of the village.

Time to use the Googles!
