Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?Derp, read that wrong.
4's is sadder, but it's a lot more hopeful.
3's ending is slightly more depressing because you see what Big Boss becomes because of operation Snake Eater so.....yeah. He really didn't live as The Boss intended and well it was just depressing.
|

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?Picked up Dead Space for $5 on steam. I only purchased the first since i heard the second wasn't quite up to par, and I liked the whole silent-protagonist aspect of DS more.
Played for about an hour, and its a creepy game thus far. I love the homages to John Carpenter's The Thing and Ridley Scott's Alien.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?Hm, I've never heard it compared to either film, but if they're anything like them then I'll have to pick it up.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?I think, on a technical level, Dead Space 2 is just a better game. I appreciated how the story progressed in 2, compared to 1 which was "Isaac, go here. Do this. Oh, it doesn't work? Fix it. It still doesn't work/Something happened that made its status irrelevant? Oh, well. Onto the next task." Plus, you can aim your punches and stomps. I could probably write 5+ pages about what I didn't like about Dead Space, but the fact of the matter is, I own all 3 games (and Ignition) and all the DLC. And the book and movies. It actually took me a long time to even get this post this short. Anyway, I started playing Final Fantasy XIII again, getting ready for XIII-2. I'm the only person on earth that seems to like this game. wordls bigest meotrid fan

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?Well Battlefield 3 crazy of mine is now at a more normal level. Anyways I am debating about that DeadSpace deal on steam...... I don't have that much Cash but it looks SO GOOD.
I think, I am just as shocked as most people are when they find out Samus is girl.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?
The necromorphs (baddies) themselves are almost spitting images of the horrendous amalgamations of the Thing's victims (though the movie's monsters are far creepier - note: I'm not far in), and the whole derelict spacecraft feels just like the Nostromo, or Hadley's Hope. And spencer, if I end up really liking DS, I'll probably end up picking up the sequel in an inevitable Steam sale. Shit happens like clockwork, eh? As well as the Wii game, because dammit, it's hard to find Wii games that are worthwhile these days.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?Dead Space looks pretty awesome, though I'm debating on actually buying it. I've never had much luck with FPS, the MP trilogy being a major exception. I played a demo once, though, and it seems incredibly unforgiving. I suppose I'd get better the more I play. FEAR is another one with the same issue.
Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?I found it to be actually pretty easy. Even on the higher difficulties, I never found myself at a shortage of ammo. If you run in to trouble, you have a full compliment of space magic to help you along. Really, as soon as you get that whole "strategic dismemberment" thing down, the game is cake. Not to mention you're able to upgrade your RIG and weapons as you progress, so if you do find it difficult, you can just hit up an upgrade bench and get it in. I can't remember if the first one has New Game+ for higher difficulties, but I know you at least keep all your stuff for loops done on the same difficulty. wordls bigest meotrid fan
