Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?Sorry fox, but no. Explorers were great games, but red and blue rescue team were the originals, and I prefer them by far. They had the better plot, even if explorers plot was longer. And explorers took a ton of stuff from red and blue. Amneisiatic human wakes up to find a Pokemon next to him who wants to start a rescue team, during the story they are on the run from a large gang of pokemon (exile in red/blue, dark world in explorers) worlds balance is upset and natural disasters occur.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased? Then I suppose I should have said I PREFER Explorers. IMO, the characters were better and so was the writing.

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?I beat Yoshi's Island today on 3DS VC. But I still have a bunch of games to beat on 3DS...
Other than that, I bought the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Gran Turismo 5 this week. Awesome track. |

Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?Beat Link's Awakening DX. Probably my favorite 2D Link so far. But that plot though. Damn I hated that game's plot, it had potential (for a Zelda game) but they killed it at the end. Shouldn't have expected less from Nintendo but w/e.
Right now playing through Oracle of Ages, Devil May Cry 3, and Mario Kart 64 (for the most part, I'm in a Retro phase). Can't say much about Oracle of Ages since I haven't gotten very far, but as for Devil May Cry 3 while I like the gameplay, action and bosses I hate everything else. Too much repetition of enemies, probably the worse camera I have ever dealt with in a videogame, and some design choices I really hate (like the fact that there are no checkpoints, you must restart the mission once you died. I understand the game is somewhat easy and the individual missions are short, but its still simply not fun imo.) Don't get me wrong; its a lot of fun, but some things in it are really holding it back from being "great." And as for Mario Kart 64, my God, this game is so rooted into my childhood that there is no way I can't have fun with it. "Cut! There are no second chances for actors that fall to the abyss. Re: What are you playing/what have you purchased?
I personally liked Oracle of Ages and Seasons MUCH more than Link's Awakening. Devil May Cry 3 is probably my favorite DMC game. I didn't really have many problems with the stuff you listed, but it all depends on preference, I suppose. Playing Half-Life 2, which I'll probably be finishing soon, since I just started Sandtraps. Team Fortress 2, which continues to be fun. Heavy is my fifth (I think) most used class, with just under an hour of playtime, but he has my most kills and points (27 GODDAMN POINTS AND 15 KILLS IN ONE ROUND -- in a Capture the Flag game, even!), because I absolutely wrecked face in this one Capture the Flag match I did. I'll put the details in a spoiler, for those who want to read:
Pretty much all of Red Team is Engies and they have Level 3 Sentries out the goddamn ass, with three of them (as well as two or three Dispensers) next to the intelligence, along with their Engie creators, to keep anybody from fucking them up. We start wising up, and nearly all of our team is Heavies and Medics. It took a few tries, but eventually, I got me (as a Heavy) and a Medic buddy to the hallway outside their intelligence room. I wait until his UberCharge is full, I start spinning my minigun, he activates the invulnerability, I go out of hiding, kill all the Engies in the room, destroy their Sentries, and blow the shit out of their Dispensers and Teleporter Entrances for good measure, then grab the intelligence -- Medic buddy's still on my ass healing me -- I grab some ammo from the Engies' weapons (because, as you'd expect, the minigun was almost completely out of ammo after doing that), then I run out of the RED base, blow the shit out of every Engie and Scout that comes my way -- as well as the Engies' Sentries -- and become a big damn hero by getting the intelligence back to our base for the win. Just sucks that it was a Player Match and not a Ranked Match, because if it was the latter, I could have saved that awesome shit as a replay.
ANYWAY, I'm also playing some Portal, which I'll probably finish today because it's not that long of a game (speaking of which, is Portal 2 good at all? I might buy it sometime), I still need to get around to play inFAMOUS 2, which I'll probably do once my brother leaves for work (since the PS3's in his room), and I may be playing Half-Life later today. My brother's returning Half-Life because I keep getting a disc read error every time I put it in the system. I'm hoping he can just return it and get the money back, but if he fails to do that, then he's just going to return it and get another disc. I need another $20 so I can buy Mass Effect 3: N7 Collector's Edition, and I'm hoping to preorder it on Amazon. ![]() |
