The improvements made from the first to the second game were so many that, even as good as Brotherhood was, it still felt lacking. I think it would be the best for all of us if they worked on the next one for an extra year.

And Revelations was pretty damn buggy. One more year would also help with that.

*searches for info on next game*

Oh well, it seems a new one will be released this year, because Desmond's story takes place in 2012 and ends in December, 2012. So they don't want us to play a near-futuristic game after the time period has already passed. Well, hopefully it's better than Revelations. And hopefully they'll take a break before making another entry to the series.

And December, 2012? I think I know where this is going...

The 2012 things been in place since the very beginning... I'm sure it'll be fine.

Well, I'm already on Chapter 11 of RE:Revelations. Shows me for deciding to get it during a break. >.>

Let's play Raid Mode, mang.

Anyway, my friends and I just (honestly, 5 minutes ago) beat the original Metroid after many months and many pages of passwords. I feel very good about that.
Last night, I completed the most harrowing run of RE:CVX of my life, all while managing to snag the rocket launcher on my first go. Now I'm going to bash my skull into a wall while trying to A Rank Wesker's battle game.

Bought the limited edition of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND yesterday, launch day. Been playing the hell out of that. I'm pretty good with Relius, he's pro as fuck.

I'm replaying for yet another time Warhammer 40K Soulstorm. Just love Chaos beating the hell out of the Imperium Guard of Sisters of Battle. And I've recently started playing Star Wars: the Old Republic. Not bad, not bad at all, I must admit. It has smth most mmorpgs lack-a story. Those who like Star Wars should definitely check it out some time

Playing Pokemon Diamond now, apparently generation IV pokemon game. Note that this is actually my first pokemon game (technically my first pokemon was Yellow but I barely played it). All I can say is that I can understand why people love the pokemon series, it is indeed a good game. However, there are some minor areas that I'm disappointed in; NPCs hardly say anything useful, transversing in this game is terribly archaic and frustrating, cutscenes and dialogue are completely unskippable (like, seriously? Also do I have to sit there watch GEODUDE's animation when he uses Rock Smash on a rock every damn time?), and I feel that the menus could be organized better.

I agree with the HM animation, but we're mostly used to that kind of thing... :P The menus are considerably better in HeartGold/SoulSilver, where you use the touch screen for pretty much everything.

I've never played a pokemon game properly but would like to see what all the fuss is about, what would you recommend to try first?

Downloaded Metal Gear Solid Demo last night but in sleep mode and forgot all about it, prob dead battery by time get home (at work) will give it a bash later on.

Pullblox/pushmo is quite awesome.

Pokemon SoulSilver is my favorite. It has a TON of good content.

Still playing Resident Evil Revelations, finally met Jackass and Grinder. All I have to say is who the hell approved of them during editing and revisions? Capcom needs new writers.

Meanwhile over on consoles I'm replaying Mass Effect 2 to get the perfect file for 3.

Yeah, HeartGold and SoulSilver are great to start. You'll be familiar with many of the creatures (even if you've never played before) and get to know the ever so famous Kanto region after you're done with the first part of the game. All while still playing a modern title.

It's great. Thanks to the great 3D and sound effects, the immersion is amazing. I believe it would benefit greatly from the Circle Pad Pro, though.

Some stuff I've been playing:

Dark Souls: I have a love/hate thing going on with this game, but I guess everyone does. The art, level design and storytelling in this game are amazing. The actual game part, not so much :| . The camera, controls and framerate need some work. Same with the difficulty curve. I get that this game is supposed to be really hard, and to it's credit most of the game is tough-but-fair, but there are areas in this game that are blatantly unfun.

I liked it a lot, but I wish it had more time in the oven.

Fallout New Vegas: The dialogue and storytelling in this game blows vanilla FO3 out of the water, it's seriously night and day. FO3 had better level design (New Vegas has you wandering around in the desert for too long). Neither game measured up to S.T.A.L.K.E.R., which is still the king of FPS/RPG hybrids.

It's not bad, but seriously play stalker instead.

Super Mario 3d Land: This is a fun game, but it's more New Super Mario Bros. than Mario Galaxy which is a let down. It's fun to play but the music and graphics are pretty bland :|. It's good, but it plays it too safe.

You're telling me there are dumber characters than the guy with the weird hair at the end of the demo? Sheesh.

How's the gameplay? I couldn't really get a feel for the game from the demo and I got burned on RE5.
