Path of Radiance is best FE. Just sayin'.
Got Arcana Heart 3 and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for free on the PS3, so I've been playing those. Also more Skullgirls and Persona 4. Been working on Ameno-sagiri in Persona 4 for a couple of days now. I've gotten to where I almost kill him (I get him to like, a little sliver of health) every time, but he still wastes me no matter what.

Different strokes for different folks I guess, because I thought Path of Radiance was just down right boring and mediocre. Easiest Fire Emblem (for me atleast), boring story, terrible graphics and animations, maps seemed smaller because of the whole 3D thing, got rid of pretty much all the classes Sacred Stones implemented (and in doing so got rid of the ability to choose who you want to level up to) and the new monster classes were something that the game didn't need; more classes that were so good that they out-shined everyone else (except for the Paladin which has always been stupid strong). The whole "Base of Operations"/Camp thing also probably helped make the game extremely easy. Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones (the second western GBA release) is ok, but it is WAY too easy. Being able to travel the map and grind makes the game a cakewalk - however, I mean, I guess you don't HAVE to. Still the game practically forces you to... It's still pretty decent with some fun characters and battles. But that's all it really is, decent.
Gameplay wise I thought it was the best in the series. It offered the best roster of character classes (giving you the option to pick between different tiers also was a plus in my book), implemented some much needed mechanics (FINALLY i can go back to past areas and buy shit) and offered much more sidequests and choices (admittingly not much though; its still a fairly linear game). But you're right about the difficulty; it really did hinder the game. The first GBA released in America (Fire Emblem 7) is still my favorite at the moment.

I had played parts of the two GBA games when I was younger, but the first one I owned and played all the way through was Shadow Dragon (which was just OK - I see why people don't like it very much). I'm excited to play my ambassador Sacred Stones, since many people seem to love it, but first I have to finish beating Minish Cap, Uprising and Pokémon Black.

So I decided to trade in some games I didn't like any more for a new one. So I picked up Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Guy at Gamestop also told me about a tactical Pokemon game that has me excited, so I'm probably going to get that whenever it comes out.

Yeah, it's Pokémon Conquest, a crossover with Nobunaga's Ambition. It was announced a few months ago, but the whole thing seemed so insanely Japanese I didn't even bother getting excited about it. Now that's it has been confirmed for America somehow, I'm thinking about it. I'll probably buy it if there isn't any 3DS game that really draws my attention until July.

I was just thinking not to long ago "hmm, what if they made a tactical pokemon". Concept wise Pokemon Conquest seems interesting, but I wonder how it'll hold up against other SRPGs (or how it'll be set apart from them besides the fact that its Pokemon).

To be fair, some of the new classes in SS weren't all that great. Mage Knight was pretty useless next to Sage (I learned that the hard way when in my first run I made Lute a Mage Knight... it's a world of difference), and same with Ranger, when Sniper was just a all-around better class. Some things, like the General Knight (whatever Duessel was) didn't seem to gel as much as just a plain General, because of certain stat growths.
I'm not saying they weren't fun to use for certain things, but on the whole a lot of the newer classes didn't add too, too much to the experience.
At the same time it's been years since i played SS (after beating Lagdou Ruins three times and unlocking Lyon, and said "Yup, done with this game"). I still need to finish Hector's Mode in FE7. It can be tough going, especially if you want to get the Kishuna chapters.

Haha same, though my experience was a little different. Sage is obviously superior, but the Mage Knight's added mobility surprisingly proved very useful (at least for me) in later chapters and harder maps. Also, the Summoner class was way better than the Druid, and being able to switch (I think Marisa?) between a Swordmaster and a Assassin was also badass. You're right that the Ranger sucked, and the Grand Knight really wasn't needed (it tried to be a mix of a Paladin and a General, but you're better off with just both) but some classes had awesome tier changes as well. I'm not saying they weren't fun to use for certain things, but on the whole a lot of the newer classes didn't add too, too much to the experience.
Fair enough, but it just seems counter-productive to add in all these new classes, some good, some bad, and instead of improving them in the next game they just disappeared and never returned. In fact, I'm confident that Fire Emblem 7 even had more classes then Path of Radiance (I do know that in Path of Radiance the Shaman and Druids class were unplayable for some reason). Because of this and many other things, Path of Radiance to me felt like it regressed more than it progressed. At the same time it's been years since i played SS (after beating Lagdou Ruins three times and unlocking Lyon, and said "Yup, done with this game"). I still need to finish Hector's Mode in FE7. How is Hector's mode in comparison to Eliwood's? Because as much as I love the game I always get bored of hector and stop playing...mainly because its supposed to be the same plot but in Hector's point of view. Maybe I'll force myself to beat it eventually.

I have been playing Xenoblade Chronicles like an addict. Took a break to try out what GameFly sent me, Lord of the Rings: War in the North. It's very meh. So I saved, quit, and went right back to Xenoblade Chronicles.

I've been playing Kid Icarus Uprising like an addict. Beat five chapters today and am only two away from beating it.

Hector's mode is generally harder, and you have access to some levels not available from Eliwood's play. You'd have to look up a list of comparisons, since I never beat it. Also, Hector Hard Mode is probably the hardest FE campaign since Fire Emblem Thracia 476 (or whatever it's called). You'll be turtling everywhere. And you're right, I forgot about how fucking AWESOME the necromancer/summoner dude was. My favorite class in the game. --- Well, I didn't do my homework. I ordered Outrun on the Sega Saturn, only to find out it is not compatible. I ordered Space Harrier, and I am pretty sure the same thing will happen. Which really fucking sucks. I haven't found any problems with After Burner II searching, but I'm not holding my breath. Basically, at this point, I just haggled and got the compilation disc of ALL THREE GAMES on one disc. Which is what i should have done in the first place! God damn, I am such a fucking tool. Sigh. Next on the horizon is getting into the Fantasy Zone series. I am thinking of importing a copy of Fantasy Zone SEGA AGES for the Saturn, for a true arcade port, and then getting on Wii VC Super Fantasy Zone (and MAYBE Fantasy Zone II for Sega Master System). Anyone ever play the games? The main character, Opa-Opa looks too adorable not to love: Plus the music is boss, too: /pun

I keep on hearing it's a really good game. Currently, I have Mario Kart and Starfox on the top of my list, but I'm wondering if it's good enough to bump Icarus to the top.

Haters gonna hate, but Kid Icarus is better than both of those.

Kid Icarus is better than... Well, pretty much anything. Best 3DS game I've played so far.

Agreed. The only 3DS game that I haven't played that everyone raves about is Super Mario Land 3D, which I doubt will take Kid Icarus' throne.
