Well, I was interested in playing that new Zelda game since I'm trying to expand my horizons in Nintendo games, and all I hear is emasculation jokes about that game. Also, I'm not reading through a thread.

If you want to broaden your horizons and haven't played a Zelda game before, I would start with Link to the Past or Ocarina of Time.

I don't care what anyone says, NES Link was hardcore.

Definitely. You remember how in the manual, it showed Link actually carrying all of his shit? Like his raft, ladder, bombs, boomerang, shield, etc.

That must have weighed something in the neighborhood of 80lbs, if not more. And does Link care? No; he has a job to do.

He continued to be a badass in Adventure of Link. Zelda's asleep? I don't care, I'm not putting my pants back on.

I'm going to wander around the world with no pants and kill the shit out of every moblin I see until that dumb 'ho wakes up, and maybe I'll fight my evil clone or something.

If you own a 3DS, start with Ocarina of Time 3D.

If you own a Wii, download on the VC A Link to the Past and or Ocarina of Time.

Link to the Past or Link's Awakening (or even Capcom's Oracle series) are about as good as Zelda experiences get, so those are good places to start.

It might be hard to get into OoT nowadays because it can be pretty archaic in terms of design.

I also recommend Majora's Mask. I personally like Majora's Mask a lot more than Ocarina of Time.

Meh. I disagree. After the first dungeon you get used to it and forget any qualms you had.

For the most part.

And the 3DS remake/enhanced port is pretty sleek all over.

Has anyone else attended the Symphony of the Goddesses concerts recently?

If not, go get tickets if they're gonna be in your area. It's pretty much the best thing a Zelda fan can ask for while making music geeks happy.

I could see it in December but I don't think I'll have enough money or any way of getting there. Plus I have all that other stuff I wanted to buy...

I went to the Symphony of the Goddesses concert and had a really great time.

They played a beautiful compilation of Majora's Mask near the end, so I'm getting excited that Nintendo might re-release that game on the 3DS. Some of the other notable tracks I enjoyed was, Ballad of the Wind Fish, Fairy Fountain and Gerudo Valley.

It's worth your money, time if you have a deep respect for traditional classical music and some interest in Zelda.
If you don't, don't bother.

I'll state here and now that you have to be on your best behavior such as clapping after a performance, avoid being loud, do not take photos during the concert (before and after are ok).

Things like that will get you removed form your seat. My buddy was fortunate not to get kicked out when his camera-flashed at the start of a song but he was quickly pulled aside and told by officials to turn it off.

Be a respectable individual and you'll be fine. :)

Moving onto other Zelda news, Zeldamotion is working on this:

And "yes", they got the famous Todd Haberkorn to voice as Link. lol.

I'd love to see Majora's Mask on 3DS. It make me more depressed that I don't own a 3DS tho. :(
