Re: Worst Moments of Game RageI can't say I'm surprised, but Dark Souls has given me a huge dose of rage. The worse part about it is that any of my friends that have beaten it are telling me it's going to get much, much worse.

Re: Worst Moments of Game Rage
Oh yes, the Story Mode is quite a challenge, but replay it a few number of times and it gets easy (somewhat). Still difficult though. "Cut! There are no second chances for actors that fall to the abyss. Await your second casting in the darkness forever." - The Night of Wallachia

Re: Worst Moments of Game Rage
Well i did beat the story mode but then came hard so i beat few missions and then came very hard and its at this point i said screw it i will try this game again in a few years. Its just that in order to unlock every stage and racer you need to beat everything and that's nearly impossible. |

Re: Worst Moments of Game RageThere are two instances I can recall when I absolutely lost my shit to the point of actually affected my mental health for a time.
First was back in 2002/2003 when I first got a Nintendo GameCube, and was playing Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. There was this one mission in Metal Harbor where you had to beat the level in a certain amount of time. And it WAS. IMPOSSIBLE. I died so many times, I actually pulled out the game disk and threw it into a lamp I had so hard it cracked and nearly broke in half. I was horrified when I saw it and was so ashamed of my tantrum I waited a year before telling my mother about it and getting a new disk so I could play it. Thank god I saved my progress on a memory card. ![]() Next was playing Donkey Kong Country Returns' Mirror Mode. There is this one boss, Thugly, for World Six that I could NOT beat without taking a hit at least once. Mirror Mode, of course, turned you into a one-hit wonder without and Diddy's help. I died so many times to Thugly that I could not stand to play the game for FIVE MONTHS. Even after that I died a few dozen more times over before killing the fat bastard... Be not proud of what you make, but what impact it leaves on others.

Re: Worst Moments of Game Rage
Wicked cool, bro. Wanna merit badge? My fiance and I were playing NSMBWii today, and we're on World 7. The first "half map" Castle you get to has this stupid elevator that you have to steer by tilting the remote, and Bobombs drop down from above the top of the screen. We kept having bombs drop right onto our heads. So frustrating. She also has a tendency to panic and hit "A" if she thinks she won't make a jump, because doing so puts you in a safety bubble until your partner pops it... this becomes problematic because if you die, you go into a bubble also, so if I just died, and she goes into a bubble out of habit, then we're both in bubbles and the level kicks you back to the overworld map. Gahhhh. "I am tired of being under the weight of greedy men who don't believe in anything."

Re: Worst Moments of Game Rage
I remember that. I could not for the LIFE of me figure out how you could beat Metal Harbour in that time. Here's mine. Twilight Princess. Arbiter's Grounds. I made my way through the first half of the dungeon, but I didn't bother to save. And then... The f*cking game froze. I was just staring at the screen with a blank look on my face, then I screamed in unadulterated rage and threw a large object at the screen. I ejected the disc, threw it across the room, and didn't bother playing it again for about half a year.

Re: Worst Moments of Game Rage
I know how you feel. I learned the hard way to go back and save before going into the Furnace to get the energy tank in Metroid Prime. If there's one thing good about the Wii version, it's that that glitch was fixed. ![]() |

Re: Worst Moments of Game Rage
It's a good thing it was, or there would have been snapped controllers galore, especially in my case.

Re: Worst Moments of Game RageI've mentioned Donkey Kong Country Returns before, but no other game has made me lose so many lives before.
Temple Levels. Mirror Mode. And me being a completionist. NOT a good combination. I quite the game for month-long periods at two points since I got it for Christmas 2010. Buuuuut I beat it a few months back and I still love the game to death. Just DAMN it could be brutal. I rage-quit at the Thugly and Colonol Pluck bosses (of Worlds 6 and 7 respectively). Re: Worst Moments of Game RageWell i just started castlevania again for the nes,and i was trying to beat it since i never done it before. I always played till the 6 level and then quit. of course i don't have to remind anyone how hard the game is. So i spend maybe 6 hours trying to beat it and i made it to dracula then i was just about to finish off his first form off and guess what.
The game froze........ |
