Re: Nintendo 3DSIf I'm not mistaken, Super Mario Bros., Wrecking Crew, Donkey Kong Jr. and NES Open Tournament Golf all support turn-based multiplayer. Ice Climber and Balloon Fight have simultaneous multiplayer, and we won't be able to use that until the "official version" comes out.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Remember why they are free though? Because they shafted us with the price drop, you really think 10 games from a 25 year old system and 10 more from a 10 year old system really covers what they did? Looking at how unplayable these NES games are I would have much preferred a single free 3DS game as compensation, and by that I mean a good one that isn't a lazy remake of an N64 game. |

Re: Nintendo 3DSI am really not hearing what you are saying about the NES games being unplayable. After a bit of adjustment, I could rock just as hard on SMB as I did on the WII. Playing some of the classics such as Ballon Fight and Ice Climber are really cool, as I never got a NES. Oh and the two Zeldas, those two are amazing. I can see myself using so much time on those two.
And when has Nintendo made a lazy remake of a N64 game? MZM Hard mode 15% status: Complete

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Yes, because you bought the system for $250 because you believed it was worth $250. Nintendo doesn't owe us anything, it's not like everyone would stop buying Nintendo products if they dropped the price and didn't compensate us. People would make a big fuss online and then they would go buy the new Mario, because that's what gamers do. They complain about getting "shafted" by publishers, and then they continue to support the publishers who "shafted" them. You can say you don't like the games they gave us, that's fine. But don't act like you're entitled to anything, because you really aren't. |

Re: Nintendo 3DS
How do you figure that they are unplayable? ![]() |

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Many NES games have design decisions that some people can't cope with. To many people, Zelda II is an unplayable game, because of its unfair difficulty. Some people just can't deal with Metroid starting you with 30 energy every time you die. A lot of people have also been complaining about the button mapping for NES games, wishing they could reconfigure. On the NES, A and B were right next to each other, and on the 3DS they're at a weird angle that can make it uncomfortable to press both at once, like when running and jumping in Mario. So the controls could make the games unplayable for some people. |

Re: Nintendo 3DSYeah button placement, and some slowdown.
Was my reply deleted or so before? I'll be damned if I type that out |

Re: Nintendo 3DSThe Kotaku story on it has a picture.
This be it: ![]() So I ask you, early 3DS adopters: WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?! (Good grief, Nintendo... You're like the guy that's always early to class but forgets his stuff every single day, so he mooches off of everybody and tries to go all MacGyver with what he can get... Enough with the add-ons and peripherals! ...Sigh...) ![]() X-Ray Scope Acquired! |

Re: Nintendo 3DSOh my god they gave it a tumor. This isn't near as dumb as the stupid Sega add-ons or the Kinect, but seriously? I feel jibbed.
*sigh* If they add this, then I at least hope it is compatible with Kid Icarus uprising. I dun like using the touch screen to aim. EDIT: Monster Hunter for the 3DS is very good news. MH sells like hotcakes in Japan, which is good because the 3DS needs more games like this. I personally didn't enjoy MH3 much (no constructive criticism here), but it's Capcom. They get me to buy almost all their products, so this will probably end up on my shelve one way or another ![]()

Re: Nintendo 3DSThis is getting ridiculous. Nintendo's setting a horrible precedent here: Poor launch + Massive unexpected price drop + Unusually early and drastic redesign = Shot consumer confidence. I wouldn't be surprised if people hold off on the upcoming WiiU expecting Nintendo to perform similarly as they have with the 3DS, which would send potential sales into the ground.
A second circle pad is nothing wrong, but making such a move given the devices current commercial climate is effectively the same as Nintendo themselves screaming their incompetence. And what does it say of the accessory itself? It's now entirely plausible that Nintendo will release a wholly redesigned 3DS model incorporating the extra pad but developers are notoriously stingy with non-standard peripherals, so just how wide spread can we expect it's use to be? At this point I'm entirely exhausted with Nintendo, I barely care anymore. I made the mistake of "adopting" the 3DS early, a mistake I do not plan to repeat with any device in the foreseeable future, but I still find it unfair to those who did purchase early that Nintendo not only sold us an unfinished product but now expects us to pay the difference for the privilege of completion. There's only one of two ways this will play out: Either the extra pad remains an optional peripheral and is ultimately under utilized by developers, falling into obscurity and proving to be a waste of time and money, or this does indeed prove to be Nintendo's plan moving forward, is later incorporated into the 3DS' next revision and either forces consumers to trade up to the updated device or purchase the peripheral in order to use their 3DS' optimally. Either or, I sincerely hope Nintendo learns their lesson and plays the WiiU straight and proper. If they fuck up again, especially so badly, I doubt they'll survive to the 9th generation. The last metroid is in captivity. All's well in the galaxy.

Re: Nintendo 3DSDamn, that thing looks horrid. The ABXY buttons seem hard to reach with it on. A second analog stick is far from necessary one way or another, so I hope this thing becomes completely forgotten in a week or so.

Re: Nintendo 3DSLooks bit fake, they aren't even the same size and the 3DS and the attachment looks like their photos were taken at different angles, you can notice it on the circle pads, the one of the 3DS looks shallower angle wise but the one on the attachment is almost perpendicular.
Well I hope it's fake, seems odd for such a thing to be revealed in a magazine. If true then I don't think I'll be getting a WiiU. Already got shafted on the 3DS price and this would be adding insult to injury. |
|
Re: Nintendo 3DSNow that I think about it more, I think the second pad will be similar to WM+. Other than some games, I don't think it will be completely necessary.
Also, just saw some MH 3G screens, and I've gotta say...it is the best looking 3DS game I have seen thus far. Heck...It even looks better than Monster Hunter Tri! The probability of this game ending up on my shelf has now went up a notch.... ![]()
