Nanner, did you go on reddit for those?
Also, I just recently thought of this. They say that the 3DS has the power of a Wii. I have heard that at times, it even rivals the power of an 360. Now, I haven't seen that, but it got me wondering about Metroid Hunters 2. If there were to be such a thing, it could look very similar to Metroid Prime, or even Prime 3.

For the 29 friends? Nope. Mix of other Metroid fans from MDb and Shinesparkers and people from our local meetup group. Angel of fire wrote:Also, I just recently thought of this. Yeah, I'm not sure how true the part about the 360 is, but, if you look at a game like Kid Icarus Uprising, you'll see it looks nearly as good as some of the best Wii games.

3DS land looks almost as good as Galaxy from what I've played so far but the stages are much shorter and compact. Problem is if the game uses 3D it has to render the same image twice for the 3D effect so while it maybe as powerful as X system you wont necessarily get the same quality in graphics as that system.

It's noticeable that Super Mario 3D Land's graphics are simpler than Super Mario Galaxy 2's, but not too much. I believe that a game made without stereoscopy for the 3DS has the potential for amazing visuals. And Iwata once mentioned there was the possibility for that.

They've also said they actually tried to make Super Mario Galaxy on the 3DS, but Mario was way too small to see. SML3D is the direct result of that in-house experiment with it's smaller levels.

Yeah, there are a few design elements that need to be changed when you're trying to port a game meant for 30+ inch screens to a 3.5" one. From the little I've played of Super Mario 3D Land, I think it fits a portable system perfectly.

Kinda realized that I never posted my friend code here (at least I don't THINK I have) so here it is: 2921-9102-7855 Warning, the only multi player games I own are Mercenaries and SF, so...yeah, and the only other 3DS game I own is OoT. I've been focusing on my PS3 library. I'll also post my friend code in my profile, so shoot me a PM if you register me!

Nintendo has announced that they "are planning to release a totally new side-scrolling action Super Mario in 2D as a key title for the Nintendo 3DS in the next fiscal year." I'll like it if "totally new" means something more interesting than just a New Super Mario Bros. 3D. I'd probably like the game either way, but I'd love to see something actually new in a 2D Mario game.

I picked up a 3DS. I already got mario, pushmo and swapnote, and I'll probably pick up ghost recon. Anything else I should try? Mighty Switch Force looks fun, is that game any good? I just hope this one has some actual character. The Wii and DS games were so sterile looking. 3d land is kinda bland too. It might have online play though, that could be cool.

SM3DLand is fantastic. Super sweet, exhilarating levels. Reminds me of the good ol' days. And there's loads of levels to keep you going for a while. Best of all, it's actually honest-to-goodness difficult.
I haven't played Mighty Switch Force yet, but I'm considering it. Next game I get may be RE: Revelations.

I got Mutant Mudds a few days ago. Pretty good for fans of platformer-shooters (like a certain series people here should be used to), though I don't quite like how the character moves (not being able to run) and how B jumps and Y shoots. What happened to good old A and B? Still, it's a fun game and the difficulty curve is pretty much right.

I have mixed feelings with the game, it's fun but fairly easy, like with New Super Mario Bros I'm purposefully playing it very slow, I could have easily beat the game in first weekend of purchase and it be now gathering dust. However it is fun to play and some of levels are designed really well, I just wish it was as long as say Super Mario World or so. Going to get Resident Evil when next paid.

Chris,
have you played any of the Special Levels yet? They are WAY more challenging than the normal ones. Unlockable after you've beaten the main game... it's a whole 'nother game!
I bought Super Mario 3D Land via CD Universe yesterday. Should arrive before the end of the month. I was going to get Snake Eater 3D, but I think that'll get a price cut pretty soon. And next month, Kid Icarus Uprising!
