Yes, it's called Castlevania: Mirror of Fate. Unfortunately, it seems to be more in the vein of Castlevania 64 and all the crap 3D CV games, rather than the Metroidvania style of all the good games since SotN. Blah.

It's already been announced. It's called Castlevania: Mirror of Fate and it's in between Lords of Shadow and its direct sequel (coming for PS3, 360 and Wii U, it seems). From what I've seen of the gameplay, it seems 2.5D-ish, but more action-driven than what we've come to expect from 2D Castlevania. http://nintendo3dsblog.com/more-scans-f ... or-of-fate

During the Nintendo Direct Conference last night (Wednesday) in a move that should come as no real surprise, Nintendo officially announced the 3DSXL. Just like the DSiXL before it, the 3DSXL is bigger with marginally better battery life and of course larger screens. It's due to ship in Japan and Europe on July 28th and here in the States on August 19th for $199.99, just in time for New Super Mario Brothers 2. No word on whether or not we'll be able to transfer our eShop titles or ambassador games, but judging by the fact that they're tied to the console instead of a proper independent account, I doubt it'll happen. That said, I never would have thought Nintendo would allow Wii to Wii U game transfers either, and while they've yet to comment as to how that may or may not work, at least they're willing to give it a shot, so who knows? Maybe they'll pull through here. If not, I'll never likely buy one. Those ambassador games are about all the use I've gotten out of the damned thing.

No built-in second control stick makes me cry. Does Nintendo still think a second control stick peripheral is going to cut it?
As it is, if I want a 3DS, I'll buy the cheaper one. Yeah, bigger screen, better battery life, whatever, if it costs a lot more, I'll prefer the crappier model instead.
Suckers.

The Nintendo 3DS XL was confirmed last night. It's huge and will cost $199. Anyone here thinking of buying one?

I am still patiently waiting for a hack that disables the region locking, myself. The system looks nice, about nice enough to justify its higher price tag. While lack of second analog doesn't highly bother me, it's hard to see why it's not included, outside of a vain hope of keeping the system looking "portable" (like the Circle Pad Pro + 3DS doesn't make the handheld into a monster), or it could just be a deal with Gamestop to have the both of them make more money selling peripherals. EDIT: Though I have a suspicion that we who buy Nintendo products do not really care about second-analog games.

Hey, I have an idea. You know how Nintendo is re-releasing N64 titles, right? Well, Nintendo could probably release titles that were for the N64 but where canceled, right? So we might see ideas that were for Metroid 64 on a new Metroid title for 3DS! And we might see Super Mario 64 2 on 3DS too! All we need to do is remind Nintendo that they can do that! YIPEE!!!

You know you DID get like almost 10 2D action/adventure CV platformers these last two generations. You know, like that whole library of DS games?

I really don't see that happening. Projects don't get cancelled on a whim, you know.

Also, it's not like they finished M64 and THEN cancelled. Theyd have to start from whatever was left, which I'm sure wasn't much anyway. It would be, essentially, a new game.

This. And they usually have a good reason when they cancel games, you know. Chris wrote:$199? How much does the Circle Pad Pro XL cost? $20. Wait, no. Circle Pad Pro XL? Keep dreaming, bud.
