Re: Nintendo 3DSI haven't watched any of the material for it (no time), how does the XL handle upsizing the images? Do the graphics show their pixels an such more? More jaggies? I remember reading on Kotaku the original XL did that with DS games, what with blowing up images.

Re: Nintendo Unveils the 3DSXLYou can already transfer all your data (including Ambassador status) from any 3DS (or DSi) to any other 3DS using System Transfer. The only problem with that is that the old system gets cleaned up. If I were to get a second 3DS, I'd want to be able to play all my eShop games in both systems. |

Re: Nintendo 3DSCan't know just from footage. We'll have to wait and see it for ourselves. I sure hope the screen resolution has been increased, but I seriously doubt it.

Re: Nintendo 3DSUgh. I hope it is. Please don't take the easy way out Nintendo

Re: Nintendo Unveils the 3DSXLOh ho! I did not know that. Well, that puts the 3DSXL firmly in the realm of possibility for me then. I love my DSiXL, perfect for my MANLY-MAN-HANDS, and always found the 3DS to be a tad bit too small. Now my quandary is how best to buy it?

Re: Nintendo 3DS
They've fucked up yet again by not having the 2nd pad, this latest stupid move by Nintendo as made sure the WiiU won't be getting bought on release by myself.
Nope, its the same, another dick move:
Also what the heck at not including an AC adaptor:
Nintendo just went full retard. Instead of dicking around with new model why not concentrate on getting some bloody games worth playing on the system first? |
|
Re: Nintendo 3DSThat AC adapter thing is bullshit. I have no idea where they got that information from. It probably doesn't come with a cradle, and something might have been lost in the translation.
How does the 3DS not having a second pad makes you not want to buy a Wii U? Besides, the Circle Pad Pro isn't just a second pad: it has two extra buttons. Even if they did build-in a second pad into the XL, it still wouldn't be completely compatible with CCP games because of those buttons. And though it's unfortunate that the screens don't have a better resolution, it's completely understandable for three reasons: One, compatibility, since all 3DS games so far are built for the 400x240(x2) resolution; second, they'd also have to put in a better GPU to handle the extra pixels; finally, $$$. I'm not saying it was right for them to not look for solutions to these issues, but it's understandable that they didn't. |

Re: Nintendo Unveils the 3DSXLYeah, if you just want to replace your 3DS, it's pretty easy. But I'd want to have it alongside my 3DS... One for playing at home and another for on-the-go, so I'll have to wait for Nintendo Network integration.

Then add two extra buttons as well. They've made a right meal of the 3DS already and this is just more salt in the wound. The 3DS XL could have been an opportunity to further refine the 3DS beyond the software updates they've been adding and I may have been interested but instead they've bottled out and just made it bigger. These sort of decisions have knocked my confidence in Nintendo in the past few years or so and as such I'll be waiting for a while before deciding if to purchase a WiiU, I'm not ready to gamble even more on them as my time and money for gaming isn't what it used to be. |

Re: Nintendo 3DSWhere? Even the Vita had to invent a weird touchpad to compensate the impossibility of four shoulder buttons on a portable. |
|
Re: Nintendo Unveils the 3DSXL
I dont think anyone thinks of the world "portable" when they see the 3ds XL. Anyways the lack of a second built in joystick really doesnt come as a surprise to me. Im highly doubting a built in joystick until the end of the 3ds assuming games actually start using the damn thing. ![]() |

Re: Nintendo Unveils the 3DSXLWhy there's no 2nd circle pad is beyond me. It couldn't have increased the cost THAT much.
Anyways what really sells me is the longer battery life. That's the main reason I didn't buy a 3DS before. I'm still cautious though because... well dammit I want my 2nd circle pad! ![]() ![]() Do a barrel roll! |

Re: Nintendo Unveils the 3DSXLAll I want out of Nintendo is a system with two analog sticks, a control layout that is simple and easy to master while still being more than capable of dealing with someone like me (whose hands are rather large) and lasting awhile on a full charge. This means more than two hours.
Do Not Want. ![]()

Re: Nintendo Unveils the 3DSXLThe 3DS, at max settings, lasts about three and a half hours. And you can improve that number a lot by reducing the screen brightness or turning off wireless. Just sayin'. |
|
Re: Nintendo Unveils the 3DSXLYou know, I didn't know how long the battery life really lasted, but 4 hours is pretty bad. I thought the Game Gear didn't last long, but looks like you can get about 7 hours off of today's AA batteries. Maybe battery technology has improved? (or the system was modified...)
