So that's probably it,the final Wii U specifications. This person seems to have fairly reliable sources, so I doubt his information is far off if it's off at all. Honestly, I have no idea what any of the technical jargon means, but it sounds like the Wii U will be powerful... and put me in debt In case the video doesn't work for you: Wii U Price between $349.99 or $449.99 Wii U Release Date Nov 23rd 2012 Wii U Specs Direct X 11, Unreal 4 Engine, Radeon HD 6770 chipset, The console has 2GB RAM, 560MB dedicated to the OS

Yeah. The rumors come from a guy who claims to work at Ubisoft Milan. I'm still not entirely sure how reliable all of it is, but it sure sounds plausible. That Radeon HD 6770 is considerably more powerful than either the previously rumored 4950 or the next Xbox's supposed 6670.

Hmm. $350 is reasonable. I'm cautiously optimistic but hopefully most of this is true.

Probably be around £250 in UK, not too bad, still going to wait a few months though.
Also, UE4 engine isn't a system spec, they are just saying it's capable of running games using that engine.
Don't know much about graphics cards so can't comment on that, 2gb ram sounds bit low though but think consoles get away with lower ram as they dont need it for other stuffs?

2GB is quite a lot. The PS3 and 360 have 512MB each (PS3 has 256 for CPU and 256 for GPU and 360 has 512 shared), and that could be just the CPU RAM. The GPU should have an additional 512MB just for itself.

Like I say I don't know how it works for consoles. I've had 2gb in my PC for 4 years and I'm moving to 16gb with my upgrade so just sounded low when reading it. I guess if it can run UE4 then it will all okay.

Yeah, I know. I have 8GB in my PC. But consoles don't need to run huge OSs, anti-viruses, complete browsers with dozens of tabs, media players, IM clients, a game and everything else all at the same time.

All hardware specs in that rumor proved to be false.
At least according to the guy who uploaded the video.

Hmm... Eh, well... I don't go too crazy over specs. Ultimately it's the games library that gets me excited. Sure, graphics add to the gaming experience but if a game like Metroid Prime could already deliver such a tremendous experience then I don't quite see the point of overbuffing the console itself Hm, $350 sounds about right for a console.

The real issue here is having enough power to support multiplatform releases. Y'know, unlike what happened to Wii.

Yeah, this. I hate to sound like a graphics whore, but when a console limits a developer to the point where they can't have they're games released on it (therefore limiting the gamers that are exposed to said game), then there's a problem. Not to mention the fact that it limits the development teams artistic vision to dumb down graphics because said console can't handle it, while other venues (Xbox, Playstation, and PC) can. This is why it really is just better to be competitive in the specs department

The Wii U's GPU will probably have a modern feature-set so hopefully it won't get screwed like the Wii did.
Even if it isn't a big step over the 360/PS3, Nintendo's HD stuff is still going to look amazing simply because their games aren't brown and grey.

Oh, believe me, I know. If your PC has a relatively powerful pair of processor and graphics card, you can emulate Wii games through Dolphin and render them at a higher resolution. I've played Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Metroid Prime Trilogy and Skyward Sword in 1080p here, and they all look amazing (click the names for screenshots ). Of course, the SD textures, that can't be optimized, and some effects stand out, but the result is still really good and gives many PS3/360 games a run for their money. Even the now 10-year-old Metroid Prime holds up pretty well. And one friend asked me about that Other M screenshot because, according to him, the graphics were too good to be a Nintendo game. I'd love it if Wii U supported Wii games in HD natively. It's technically possible, but unfortunately unlikely to happen.
