City is a lot better. The bosses especially. The boss fight against Mr. Freeze is especially memorable.

Yeah but I bet you that boss fight against freeze doesn't have this music playing.

Still one of the best batman games.

Someone took the great idea of "What if we made a contra game but had batman characters?" and made it a reality.
Throw in the composer of the Hitman and Assassin's Creed series, and some of the best graphics of the 16bit generation, and you got one hell of a winner.

All these other batman games like to have Joker as the final boss. Here? Hell naw, he's the FIRST BOSS, and shit only gets more real from that point on.

I read a review in the day that gave the game very mediocre scores. Among other complaints was (get this) that the game didn't use any actual music from the show.

WTF?
:metroid: = Ultimate Warrior
8) = Ultimate Warrior
Therefore, 8) = :metroid:

Now you know why they call it Metroid.

Some people don't understand that when Jesper Kyd gives you demoscene, you take it and you like it.

The game's not perfect - the second level shmup section goes on waaaay too long (like, 15 minutes long, and it's a fairly easy level until the four boss fights in a row). And it's a really damn hard game.

But all the same it's loads of fun.

Anyone else excited for the Dark Knight Returns animated movie? It has the guy who played RoboCop voicing old Bruce Wayne. These DC animated movies have been incredible.

Oh yes, the DC animated flicks are awesome, can't wait for DKR. They need to hurry up though and get to making the movies of The Killing Joke, Long Halloween, and all 3 parts of Knightfall!

The Genesis version of the Adventures of Batman and Robin was pretty rad and you can never go wrong with good old Jesper, but I still preferred the SNES version. It just felt more like a Batman game where you had to plan out what items to bring for each stage that were based on actual episodes and played quite differently from each other. My favorite was the Riddler level where you had to navigate through the VR maze from the show and even answer riddles. The game also gets bonus points for bringing back the wall jump form the original NES game, which you can probably tell by my sig, I am also a fan of. That one had a pretty badass soundtrack too:

I agree 100%. There are a few others I'd love to see for Batman, like the graphic novel Joker. That was fantastic.

Still waiting for Sinestro Corps War, which would also feature Batman.

You know what could be cool? A game based on Batman Incorporated.

Some of the international batmen could be really fun to play as, and it'd be nice to get a Batman game that doesn't revolve around Gotham or Arkham for once.

Absolutely. Actually, the next game should be more globe trotting. Batman has had many international missions. Even going to Metropolis or Coast City just to visit other DC locales and further the mythos would be cool.

That'd be cool too. Though I'd kinda prefer to go to other countries.

There could be a strategic element to the game. Like you'd have to send different characters to respond to hotspots around the world. Maybe you could reverse engineer stuff you capture from super villains, and use prep-time to beat things that are out of your league.

I meant international as well as other DC locales. Hence the globe trotting mention ;)

And the whole sending other Batmen to do missions strategically thing sounds like the brotherhood aspect in recent Assassins Creed games, which is always a good thing
