Don't worry, I have. I've gotten most of the way through the first one, but they're pretty darn hard. Great story though, Rampancy is an amazingly intriguing concept.

Also: Yes, he stated in the first post that Metroid wasn't to be included. No, jokes on that statement aren't funny after 4 pages. If you thought of the joke right away, chances are everyone else did too.

Metroid is my favorite game franchise. But Super Mario Bros. Comes in at a very close second. My favorite game though is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario 64 and Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee!
