N64 Controller

Postby MetroidHunter » 06.17.07 12:39pm

I've always wondered what the deal was with the N64 controller. I mean, who at Nintendo had 3 arms? I never got what was wrong with eliminating either the control stick or the D-Pad to make the controller more useful. At least it looked good. Anyone else feel the same way?

On a completely unrelated note, this is my 100th post on this board, making me the first member to reach the milestone. Hope some others can join this club soon.

Wow, flashback to 1996.

I have to admit, though, that I find the N64 controller to be the most comfortable design I've ever used. It doesn't hold my wrists at an awkward angle and the placement of the right-hand buttons always felt natural to me.

N64 controller wins 5 ways to Sunday. I mean, come on. SIX face buttons. SIX! Plus, a great analogue stick, big ol' shoulder buttons, and a TRIGGER. How many controllers have TRIGGERS?! I love the N64 controller, unconditionally.

Yeah, but you can't use both shoulder buttons and the trigger at the same time. On the upside, it is very comfortable.

Two. Till today, two controllers had triggers, of course by Nintendo. the mentioned N64 and the Nunchuk, that has two, button C and button Z.

It was a rhetorical question, dude. Besides, you forgot the Super Scope and the NES Blaster.

I was talking about main controllers, the Zapper(NES) wasn't an obligation to have like the Nunchuk for the Wii.

Well I mean, the Nunchuck is just an attachment. Not every game uses it.

And besides, it was still a rhetorical question. :-P

You don't need to switch. Did you even play N64?
