SSBB in the Metroid timeline

When do you think Brawl takes place in the Metroid timeline? I've been wondering that ever since i play the SSE. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, so i don't mind if it's moved. Anyway, what do you guys think?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it's not canon to the Metroid universe at all.

I'd like to add that I agree with Steamlord in thinking that it's not canon to the metroid universe. :3

However... if this wasn't the case..
Like with most smash bros. games, I think for Samus was able to enjoy battling with the rest of the Nintendo gang because it took between after her completed mission and during her break before she was assigned another one.

Because Brawl came before MP3, I'm guessing she joined the Brawl, after her mission on planet Aether and before her mission with GF on MP3.

I wanna put Pikachu in a Power Suit. He'd rechage his own energy guage! :awesome:

In relationship to Metroid, I'd state SSB as a sort of "what-if" fic. It tells what could have happened, but didn't.

Apparently, according to this, the Smash Bros. Universe was created by Master Hand, and that all its characters were just trophies it created and brought to life.

So, the SSB Universe is really just one hand's personal playground, not connected at all to any of the universes it takes elements from.

Smash Bros. isn't canon to any series in any way.

Though a connection between the series, out of Smash Bros., tends to exist. Mario appeared in pretty much every Nintendo franchise and Samus appeared in both Zelda and Kirby games. Though I think that the most likely connection is between Metroid, Star Fox and F-Zero, because of the sci-fi environment.

In regards to the Metroid canon Super Smash Bros Brawl takes place after Metroid Fusion but before Super Metroid and serves as a direct sequel to Haloid.
