May be a little late, but there are 6 playable Pokémon in Brawl. Unless you count Melee as well... For my opinion in the playable Pokémon in the game... Well. I mostly agree with Drahyler, but I think Pikachu should stay just for the fan rants we'd be hearing later. Jiggly? Kill him. Squirtle and Ivysaur? They go too. Charizard? Cool, but too cliché. Lucario? Maybe he should be given the opportunity to stay. Smash was always a series made to make the lesser-know series into well-known series (you can't deny it; it worked with Metroid, Star Fox, Fire Emblem, Pikmin and more). So, why do all but one Pokémon come from the first generation of the series? I believe there should be one representative for each gen. Pikachu for Kanto, maybe Tyranitar for Johto, maybe Blaziken for Hoenn, maybe Lucario for Sinnoh and a cool Pokémon from the 5th gen, which will probably be released when the time comes for a 4th Smash. And for Dark Samus. While it may seem a good idea initially, read its trophy description. "Identical to Samus in every way but color..." You know what that means? Smash Bros.: The Clone Wars.

Read the whole sentence. Jesse D wrote:Eight playable pokemon and a myriad of pokeball summons throughout the Smash series

I'd be rather upset if Jigglypuff was killed, seeing as she's my tertiary. Besides, she's been there since the start, and she's basically the official token joke character. It's not like she's actually horrendous, she could be Ganondorf.

Ganondorf can be quite good, you know! BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB PS: Jugglypuff sucks. I just don't want it to leave because it's one of the Original Twelve. Sub-zero wrote:Jigglypuff's a guy.
Probably not. It could well be a male or a female Jigglypuff (though you have 75% chances of finding a female one as opposed as a male's 25%). Same goes for the Pikachu, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Lucario, Charizard and Pichu in the Smash games. Mewtwo is gender-neutral.

Out of curiosity, have you guys ever watched an expert Jigglypuff player? Like I said in the favorite characters thread, I think Jigglypuff is far from being the worst character. Edit: Unless your specifically talking about Brawl only, in which case, I'd probably agree.

Well, according to the current Tier list, she's 34 out of 37... Ganondorf is last

As I said, she could be worse. She could be Ganondorf.
And Ganondorf is awful. Ganondorf vs. Ice Climbers is the most retarded match in the history of competitive fighting. Ganondorf is going to lose if the Ice Climbers have even tha vaguest idea of how to play.

I don't believe in tiers.
As I said, Ganondorf can be good in certain situations. Oh, and Ice Climbers suck almost as bad as Jigglypuff.
In other news, Ike & Marth rule.

To be blunt, you are a highly self-deluding, then. If I have a character which has a Speed, Attack, and Defense of 1, to use really arbitrary values, and a character who has a Speed and Attack of 1, but a Defense of 2, the second character IS better than the first. The same goes for all competitive games, just with increasing complexity. Unless all the characters function exactly the same are just reskins of each other, tiers will always exist. As I said, Ganondorf can be good in certain situations. Oh, and Ice Climbers suck almost as bad as Jigglypuff.
Yeah... In other news, Ike & Marth rule.
Marth is good, yes. Ike? Yeah... See, I suggest you learn how to play competitive Brawl. I mean, I'm not saying some simple messing around with a few mates and items on isn't fun, but it isn't exactly the best way to learn how the games works.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbsA9Mk80bESkip to 5:45 and you'll learn a valuable not only about tiers, but also life in general. And how about we go online and check if Ike isn't as good as you think. We all have a second favorite character (after Samus, usually). They're bound to be different, some people can own with Jigglypuff and/or Ganondorf.

Heheheh... Subzy felt it in the skin. You can also ask Skree and Laz for their opinions on Ike. Sub-zero wrote:We all have a second favorite character (after Samus, usually).
Samus isn't very good in Brawl. She was the second best in the 64 (Ness 64 FTW), pretty good on Melee and so-so on Brawl. I play well with her because: 1- It's my duty as a Metroider; 2- She may not be very good but she is still awesome; and 3- Mega-Lazer + Zero Suit? Double win! Also: I could become a Smash God if I wanted, but life's too short to concentrate too much in a single game. I always play Smash and am the second best Brawler I know, but with the amount of Wii competition I have around, becoming a God would become boring. And I doubt you can beat Gil. Gil is probably one of the best Brawlers in Brazil.
