Alright...

even though I'm on vacation, I just had to finish Chapter four. The chapter is now awaiting release. Once the release date is given I'll post it or the torrent link, whichever comes first.

This was a fun chapter for me to do. I got five scanned and the rough translation already ^_^;;;

that one came back really fast. I'm waiting for snoopy to check the translation and his wife to proof before I can typeset it. Gotta finish cleaning it first to I think.

Quick question:
I see that these are in .png format, but I hear that the comics use flash as a medium as well. Are we missing anything?

The comics were published on paper and scanned. Only the the first 2 chapters were released as an “e-manga” using Flash effects.

The e-manga had animations and sound to add a bit of motion and 'interactivity' I suppose to it. It places emphasis on the drama in scenes that already exist and might also give you a sense of the pacing for how the thing might be read. It also shows you a different way that manga might try to integrate with today's technology.

It's actually impossible to edit the e-manga to have an English translation unless somebody cracks the flash file as these things are usually encoded. Nobody is going to do the rest of the manga unless they're flash experts and have WAY too much time on their hands.

Are you missing anything? Well, we've already got two translations (Snoopycool and Mechadrake) and you can figure out most of what's going on without the text anyway. And moreso if you read one of the translations. Just flip through them and enjoy.

Chapter 4 is currently "Waiting For Release" meaning that it is completed, and once snoopy updates the website (which should be in the next few days) chapter 4 will be available.

Each chapter should be released at least once every two weeks as long as something doesn't come up (vacation for example )

you can always check the very first post of this topic as I edit the first post to reflect the current status. You'll also notice that the thread title has a date, currently (5/2) meaning this was the last update. As I get updates, I also update the date so people know there is new information ^_^

Anyway, is it just me, or there isn't a "How to read manga" thread? I think it's necessary, for people might get confused with the "read from right to left" thing.

There was a previous post in this very thread on how to read manga.

"As for manga. The manga itself has been portrayed in its original format. For you non-manga readers, this means that you will be reading it from upper right to bottom left. It may seem a little confusing at first but you'll get use to it. If you click the link below, I have numbered each text bubble/sfx and the order you would normally read it.

For whatever reason I still can't get any of the downloads from snoopycool to work right. I believe a few others have mentioned a similiar problem. However all the fileplanet downloads work perfectly. Go figure.
