Other M's one truly excellent aspect...Did it strike anyone else how much the third-person gameplay felt like the 2D Metroids? I don't mean they were reminiscent of them, I mean I occasionally had to remind myself I wasn't playing Zero Mission or Super Metroid. It's uncanny; it's as if the devs grabbed both faces of the screen and pulled depth-ways. The first time I rolled into a Geemer-infested Morph Ball maze felt exactly like that one section in ZM near the bridge between the Pirate mothership and Chozodia.

Re: Other M's one truly excellent aspect...I agree. The game reminds me very much of the classics, especially Super and Fusion. I wouldn't call it the "one" true excellent thing about the game though, more like one of several.

Re: Other M's one truly excellent aspect...We all have different things that we like out of past Metroid games, so for some this feels very 'Metroid' and for others not at all. To me, what makes a game feel like Metroid is a certain combination of fun smooth gameplay, atmosphere and a feeling of isolation. Other M hits on each of those enough to feel like a Metroid game to me.
The game isn't perfect, but it's still quite excellent and I'm very pleased with the overall result. |

Re: Other M's one truly excellent aspect...I agree, but I'm weird on some of the things that other people disliked. I liked the story and the dialogue, as well as the voiceacting, but that's me. There are a few loopholes, but nothing is perfect.
