about the old metroid "secret" worlds.

i thought i'd do everyone a service and map them out by using the GCN version, and making AR codes so that everyone could explore them, but after a bit of working arround, i discovered something. no, not a true secret world, but instead, that the worlds are actualy DIFFERENT for each version! maybe not every world is different, but one that i know is, is the one that you can get to by going to the second vertical shaft in brinstar, the one with the brown/gold bricks, going downwards through the wall, in the original metroid would lead you to a variation of norfair. however, going there in metroid prime leads to an elevator room with no elevator in it! the area is also different in Zero Mission, and beleive it or not, even the Wii version.

i know the secret worlds aren't truly worlds, but i thought that they would have consistency between versions. but after all the crap i've seen (beleive me, with the ability to fall through floors, you tend to see a lot) there is little to no structure beyond the normal game, outside of a select few areas here and there.

Wow I wonder why they're different on each version. I haven't visited secret worlds in metroid since the NES cartridge.

I've always been interested in Secret worlds. Technically speaking, why/how do they appear, and how do they appear in Metroid games using entirely different engines?

??? i think you missunderstand. when i said zero mission, i meant the original metroid that you can play in it as a bonus feature. same goes for the metroid prime one. it can be unlocked in the GCN version.

but if you mean the fact that there are secret worlds in different metroid games, it more or less depends on the game you're playing. in the prime series, what's being called secret worlds, is basicly just going out of boundaries. thing is, doing that in different metroid games, results in different effects, of which, i'd say the original metroid has the most drastic. also, going out of boundaries and finding odd areas can be done in almost any game. it's just more prolific with metroid.
