It looks like this came off as 'Well because you hate Other M, you can go fuck off' and so I apologize for that.

That, right there, is one of the most offensive and ignorant statements I've seen on this board since the game's release, and coming from an admin, that's ridiculous.

You know, I take offense at that. So just because I'm an admin on my own forum I'm not entitled to my own opinion? Would you honestly have such a response if it was from someone else? Sure, there may not be any posts out there where someone says 'I hate Sakamoto' but there are a LOT of small things here and there. I'm entitled to my opinion that I don't care about the negative things people have to say about him. And you're entitled to yours.

I didn't like the fact that Sakamoto made an empty promise and tore the fandom apart. Shut the fuck up and deal with it.

Nobody's going to get banned or warned for complaining about the game. That was NEVER in the forum rules. I admit IE jumped the gun with his post, but he had a valid statement somewhere in there. I don't think anybody on here is happy with the fact that they've been given a game that people a) either really hate or b) are disappointed there are so many people who hate it. I WANTED this game to be awesome, to be the ultimate Metroid, and it wasn't. But I didn't expect THIS kind of a response when I finally put down the controller at 2 AM on August 27. I've said it before, but I just get tired of seeing people angry all the time. It's like a hornet's nest in here.

There was NOTHING this bad with Prime. It's really a lesson to learn that you DON'T want to put something in the game that is going to change people's perceptions of your character.

I don't wish to, and that was my fault, I should have addressed the "jerks" as a whole, not just you, and I apologize for my childishness.

I would like to change "jerks" to "defenders" actually, I'd rather the terminology not reflect just one side, but then I guess I'd have to change "haters" to "criticizers", and that's just complicated to type for some.


CapCom, I actually meant that your status as an Admin requires you to be more aware of the opinions of your members, and what you said came of as extremely ignorant of our opinions, and I interpreted it as simply discounting our opinions and grouping us all together. If that was not your intention, fine, but I wish you could've worded it better.

BUT, you seem to be saying that you came off as more antagonistic than intended, and if that was the case, then I'm (obviously) willing to let things just drop. As I've been trying to say this whole time, defenders should stop complaining about the haters, we're getting over it, your complaints simply come off as insulting and therefore fan the flames.

For example: I think Sam Raimi is a shit head for making Venom a pussy in Spidey 3.

Though Sam Raimi gets props because he lets Bruce Campbell make movies, which is only a good thing.

I would think so, since you don't know him, and any problems he had with Venom pale in comparison to the awesomeness that is Ash Williams, and his actor's cameos in all three spider-man movies.

Venom was okay-ish. Definitely not the psychopathic killing machine he should have been though.

that wasnt his fault, he origonally wanted sandman and vulture in 3, but the company forced him to add venom when he already had the plot written out pretty much.

tbh im more annoyed at how he simply came from a meteorite that landed next to his bike and hitch hiked, as opposed to coming down on a shuttle from outerspace on an astronaut like he was supposed.

Yoshio Sakamoto directed Metroid 1. And Fusion and Zero Mission. And Super. Fucking. Metroid. That's a LOT of awesome games.

He hasn't made anything good since Super Metroid and I will give him props for that but those were games that involved Gunpei also so is wasn't just Sakamoto. Fusion is not good and it started the whole telling us what to do and deviated from Metroid. Fusion was my 1st Metroid since Super and after a few times of the computer telling me where to go I stopped playing it. Why Zero Mission exists is a mystery to me. Sure it has prettier graphics but they added cutscenes(go figure Sakamoto) and make it super easy. Besides to me Super Metroid is a Metroid remake and it is miles better than Zero Mission.

He made some good games back then but he obviously doesn't have it anymore and Nintendo needs to remove him from Metroid. Metroid is already a game that doesn't really sell a lot so him splitting the fanbase with Other M is not a good idea. I have a feeling that Other M may not sell well at all and this will be the last we see of Metroid for some time unless they try to reboot again..

As for me though, I will no longer just go out and buy Metroid...especially if it involves Sakamoto. He is the George Lucas of video games. He was involved with great games back then but boy does he suck it up now.

People who express their opinion as fact annoy me. Just because you don't like fusion or zero mission doesn't make them bad or needless games. I really don't get the lucas comparison either. All he did was take a series that had next to no story and add a story to it.
