Is Other M your first Metroid game?

I'd like to hear some comments from people who's first Metroid game is Other M. There's been a LOT of commentary here on the forums from people who have been with the series for forever, and I'd like to hear what THEY have to say about the game.

What I really want to see is someone play Other M and Fusion for the first time in that order and how they experiance Fusion differantly, especially with [spoiler]the revelation that Adam is your computer[/spoiler]

It's not my first but it's the first since Super Metroid that I felt like finishing 100%. I had a friend that had never played a metroid game play through it and he loved it. He didn't care for the story but he auto hates every game story anyway so he never lets a story effect his enjoyment of the game.
