Re: MinitroidThe final boss should be something REALLY large, and given Samus', er "pint-size" it will appear even more massive.

Re: MinitroidThis is incredibly badass. I'm very sorry it took me this long to comment.
I can't wait to see the morph ball, and some boss battles. I'm guessing you can use morph ball bombs to escape when those flytrap-like plants eat you? Also, I'm really sorry about not getting back to you about sprites. I was doing a lot of things at once in terms of spritework, and dealing with a lot of irl issues as well; however, the least I owed you was an explanation. |

Re: MinitroidYessir. You might have noticed the beams were passing through the plant when I was trapped, but that's been fixed. Now you can shoot your way out or just wait for it to drop you.
No worries about the +H sprites, I stopped working on it a while ago. |

Re: MinitroidThis is the cutest thing I've ever seen, it even beats out Kirby in the cute department.
I saw on youtube you said those water jets were just placeholders? I think you should keep them for some interesting puzzles! How are you handling the wall jump? Super Metroid/Zero Mission's method or fusion's? Samus - She's the only woman I'll ever love.

Re: MinitroidThe water spout graphics are placeholders* They'll be used for a number of things.
Wallkick or "kick climb"..as Other M would have it..Works like ZM's. You can wallkick up a single wall like in SM, but not as quickly. |

Re: MinitroidVery impressive and fun looking.

Re: Minitroid
Hearing that makes me happy! I assume the space jump and screw attack are in too? In Super I loved how the space jump could be used with walljumps. Samus - She's the only woman I'll ever love.

Re: Minitroid
More than that, the way the ground shakes when an enemy dies should be reserved for bigger explosions, like missiles and power bombs. Just my two cents. Man, those plants look awesome... |

Re: MinitroidI kinda like those blocks with faces on them. They're so cute. They're like "please don't move me :("

Re: MinitroidActually the blocks should be smiley faces, but when you start moving them they start frowning

Re: MinitroidI'm here to echo the sentiments of everyone else here. This looks really awesome. Good job.
By the way, is that theme used in that third video an 8-bit remix of Super's Brinstar jungle theme? "Work is for people who can't play video games." - Jillian Wiebe, "The King of Kong"

Re: MinitroidIncredible !, you got to finish the project man . It's a little reminiscent of Cavestory ( the sound and explosion mainly), even if cavestory was inspired of metroid
!Infinity's End did some sprite for this ? Cool http://www.pixeljoint.com/ I did some stuff that I already posted on Mdb forum http://www.pixeljoint.com/p/29468.htm Anyway, keep up the good work, cannot wait to play this ![]() |

Re: Minitroid@Sylux- Yeah there are a lot of loud explosions and screen shakers, but they're not as noticeable when actually playing the game. I might tone it down a bit though.
@Gamer-e- Nah, it's an original piece. I used a bassline similar to one of green brinstar's (was trying to capture the vibe) and built the rest of the song around it. I guess it worked lol. @Smoking Spoon- Interesting site! I'll have to check it out more in a bit. I'm very impressed by your pixel art, keep it up! |

Re: MinitroidI've been thinking about those face blocks! There's so much you could do with them if you keep them.
I just imagined a puzzle where you had to freeze a block and them push it, or just shoot it with a missile to send it skidding at high speed into a barrier or something. Could even be used for stylish enemy kills if that's programmable. Heck even a boss could be a puzzle like that. Or you could shoot a block repeatedly with your beam until it charges up some kind of power-bomb like clearing field. Witht he face on the block changing expressions. They could start out as Happy, then got o sad when you start shooting them and then become angry ![]() Heck that could be done with pushing them too Happy block is happy in it's original spot, it gets a sad face when pushing it. Once it's it in final position it looks sad/angry ![]() I'm lame, but I love those blocks for some reason ![]() Samus - She's the only woman I'll ever love.
