Why so much Ridley and so little Kraid?

I'm answering your first post, so this might have been said before, but anyway, at first, Ridley and Kraid were equals, however, they did add Ridley in the beginning of Super Metroid, which made him a bit more popular, he was simply the easiest boss to imagine stealing the Metroid. Then, the fans liked this design, he became popular, and they added him in Fusion and Prime. Once he got into Prime, he became insanly popular and ended up in many other games. He's mainly more of a character to be imagined a a space pirate boss, and he is most featured in the manga I think, plus he killed Samus's parents and he is her nemesis. However, they now have something retro they have NOT used in 3D yet, Kraid of course. So they still have something new, awesome and untried in 3D.

Well considering that Ridley can fly, most of his attacks come from above. Kraid could attack from below by coming up from the ground beneath you and thrashing around throwing those belly spikes and taking swipes with his claws. I get Ridley's centrality as he has been developed. I think that it is just lack of creativity or lack of resources that have limited Kraid's development. I'm just saying...

Me and my friend Kenny were actually talking about this at work today. I said that Ridley is more popular because he looks like a dragon, Kenny said he looks like a pterodactyl that was spray painted purple. He also said that the reason people dislike Kraid so much is that he looks like a retarded chihuahua-lizard, I told him that the reason people don't see him in more games is that when you're fighting him it looks like he's shooting spiked "thingies" at you.

I always understood that Kraid was a native of planet Zebes. Unless the Space Pirates use Kraid's DNA to make a clone, I don't know if there will ever be another Kraid. [spoiler]Phantoon[/spoiler] showed up in Metroid: Other M, but there might be more than just one.
