Re: Metroid "Sightings"If this has been posted already then sorry for being late but here is a Metroid reference from the game Singularity

Re: Metroid "Sightings"
Oh yeah sorry . In the fourth or fifth stage of Starcraft 2 campaign , we can see the little "triclop like " creature just hanging around on a lava planet. When lava rise they go to higher ground and burrow themselves in the ground, when lava go down they emerge from the ground and return to their activity on the lower ground. Surely a lot of thing could resemble triclop , but at the first glance of this critter, my mind screamed " M-m-metroid !!" . But , heh , who knows
Yeah, I did not play this game but I'm pretty sure I saw this sighting in the cameo section
Yep yep, I'm almost sure too, I watched a LOT of mst3k lately, and I heard it maximum 2 time , Ill try to find it. But it will be tough, I watched maybe 50 episode since then ( 50 episode of 1 1/2 hour |

Re: Metroid "Sightings"
Don't sweat it -- The jellyfish fades out of memory every 2-3 years, and then all of a sudden everyone "remembers" that it exists again and makes its round on the internet. Next, I'm waiting for someone to find a parasite that looks like an ![]() |

Re: Metroid "Sightings"I did this example before in the 'You know you're obsessed with Metroid when...?' thread but I'd thought I'd show it again.
'The Jay Leno Show': ![]() Another finding: I just finished watching Episode XLI of Samurai Jack. There is a robot in red and orange that looks a hell a lot like Samus. This robot has the roundish shoulder-pads and has almost the exact same helmet and visor as Samus-- the visor is even green! Another aspect to note the chest plate. However this robot only looks like her, it doesn't have an arm-cannon or does any of the tricks/moves as our well known bounty-hunter but the look it dead on. Here are just a few screen shots I got from the show. ![]() ![]() |

Re: Metroid "Sightings"I heard about this Metroid sighting before on this site but I thought I should scan this reference.
In Jon Stewart's new book called Earth on page 223, he clearly makes a Metroid cameo. As you can see below it shows the Metroid II box and a screen-shot from the original Metroid. ![]() (I thought this was double post worthy) |

Re: Metroid "Sightings"Not really sure if it count's as a "Sighting", but I was watching an episode of the old cartoon "Roughnecks" and at one point music starts playing that sounds very close to the menu music of Hunters. I'll see if I can dig it up later.

Re: Metroid "Sightings"
People have pointed this one out before in the past and, other than the helmet, I really think it's a bit of a stretch. I highly doubt they were thinking "Samus" when they were designing Mondo-Bot. Until someone can get a hold of Chris Reccardi or Mr. Tartakovsky, I doubt we'll ever know. Thanks for FINALLY finding an image from the Jon Stewart book, though (only the text has been mentioned 4 or 5 times already elsewhere on the site) -- we'll probably use it on the site. Kinda weird how they use the Metroid II boxart and the screen is from the GBA Classic Series version. |

Re: Metroid "Sightings"
Im with IE on this one, the only thing that closly resembers samus is the helmet, and lets be honest, simple designs like that are part of his artistic style, and he seems to have an infinity for green glass and gems. ![]() |
