Not in Super Metroid she wasn't, she just followed Ridley. And the Chozo weren't massive, only the statues were. Anytime we see real Chozos they are human-sized for the most part (their ghosts in Prime for example, and the Chozo in the manga and in the endings for Fusion). Smoking Spoon, you need at least Missiles, Morphing Ball, Bombs, High Jump Boots and Super Missiles to get there, I think. But I wouldn't really take that as an indication that he HAD to use those abilities to get there, its possible he had his own variations if he was a bounty hunter. If he was a Chozo he could get there easy. If he was a Galactic Federation guy I really doubt he could get there.

Riiiight I remember. I'm pretty sure she would have told someone though. Might have told someone. I'm sure the GFeds would know that their space ship was exploded, at least. I still think its a way too humanoid shape. I dont think chozos would have worn shoes like that, over their scary chicken feet, and their heads seem proportionally much bigger than in that picture. Plus, if we're going by the manga, the chozo have lost all of their ability to fight pretty much, and if that was a chozo warrior he'd be pretty damn ancient (in which case, why isn't he there in original metroid/zero mission?) All clues point to him being an unsuccessful, human/oid bounty hunter, perhaps even with the GFed's apporpriation of Samus' suit.

She would of told someone but no way they would of beaten her to Zebes, and that guy has been dead for a good while.
I don't think its a Chozo necessarily, but its certainly a possibility. I do think most likely that it is a random bounty hunter that went to Zebes for some reason. I suppose the question is when and why.
And Smoking Spoon, Chozo are NOT the same size as Torizo, this is a misconception. Torizo are just living Chozo statues, their exact relation to Chozo is unclear but they're certainly not the same creature.
Torizo were probably created by Mother Brain as a disguised bio-weapon.

Really ? Awww.. . Was there a comic or a manga which stipulate this ? If mother brain bother making a trap with an item on it. WHY don't she just remove the item instead and discard it

Well, I guess maybe she used the item to lure Samus, that way the door would lock behind her and she'd be trapped with the Torizo. As for the Chozo size, here.

^ That's a particulary old and fat Chozo.
Judging from the statues, they're a lot slimmer and much less squat than that birdie.

Yeah, the Chozo seem to have sort of regressed after becoming pacifists. It's possible they used to be much larger, perhaps even as large as a Torizo. There's really no way to know for sure.

Forget Metroid V, the next metroid game shoud be exploring this guy's backstory >D You win the game when you get killed by the door thing.

Mmm... you say it in a form of joke. But I like the idea! I love when a game/movie unexpectedly end with something scary/breath taking/sad ( even if metroid fan will know the ending ). There is one movie you totally need to see , but I won't tell you the name ..yet! ( it will spoil you the punch ! )

Mini-kraid/Sclayd is totally as close to being Kraid you can be without being Kraid (or Meta Kraid).
I love how in the original Kraid and Sclayd are the exact same size but Sclayd dies in a heartbeat.

I'm pretty sure our squat friend is Old Bird from the manga. He was rather short.
