I think this is pretty cool. Some of the remix are actually a Midi version converted to 8-bit with a program.
( It would have been nice to hear them during Metroid on the nes :awesome:

I'm actually currently working on Metroid "Inspired" music right now. I say inspired because its all original music its just sort of themed like Kenji Yamamoto's Prime Songs. I'll post what i have some time.

I have many favored artist at OCR, and The Wingless, author of these two tracks, ranks amongst my most favorite. No clue what's become of him since he stopped posting to OCR back in early '06, I can only hope his talent payed off and he's situated somewhere in the industry by now.

This guy showcased a really good Maridia remix from (where else) OCRemix called "Kindred", which forgoes the usual trends of vocal remixes(usually Brentalfloss-esque parodies) and gives us a rather beautiful song.

I posted this in a different thread a while ago. Still some of my favorite takes on the metroid world or it's music.

So a few years ago i was browsing some music site that people could upload their own music too that they make. Well I came across a couple of Metroid tracks which I thought were pretty fricken awesome.

Now normally when you hear a Metroid track, you think...oh well it's just gonna be another remix. Well not the case today.

Today I give you two songs (neither of them are mine! I did not create them).

The Poison by -sinicide-

Sinicide's "The Poison" brings a political type rap to Metroid music. You wouldn't think that it fits, but this guy did a pretty good job. You can download a version of it here:

"Don't Date Samus" -nolifeline-

This mix is not a metroid remix but a song about Metroid. Follow this guy as his hard rock takes you through a date with Samus Aran. I personally love this one and it's awesomeness.

My brother was listening to some Metroid remixes yesterday, and although he didn't tell me what they were, I found them on my own. It's nice to hear something different instead of the metal and trance remixes.
