The Official "Metroid Manga" updates (12/24/08)

Well I was honestly looking forward to posting links to the fricken Chapter, but it doesn't appear Snoopy has updated the site yet. So that leaves me with both some good news and some bad news.

I'll start with the bad news. Bad news is, due to real life, I won't be home to post the links when he finally does update the site. That means that I will need someone during the course of the day to check the snoopycool website and post with the link to Chapters 1 & 2. Link to it is simply www.snoopycool.com and just click the Metroid hyperlink and it will take you to the update. Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 are available there. Oh did I say Chapter 1 and Chapter 2?

That brings me to the good news. From 6 PM to 2 AM yesterday, I scanned and edited Chapter 2. So not only will you have Chapter 1, you will have Chapter 2 as well! Awesome ne? I figured no one wants to wait another two weeks for Chapter 2 which most people have already read on the E-Manga, so I decided to go ahead and do Chapter 2. That means that in two weeks (hoping to make it 1 week though time dependent) you will have all new content.

Well that being said, as people read the post, please check the www.snoopycool.com website to see if it has been updated and post a link when it's there. I won't be back home till later tonight.

With that, once the links are posted, please refrain from posting about the chapter in this thread. There will be if you don't notice, a thread for each chapter. Please keep in mind that if you haven't read the chapter...it will contain spoilers.

So here's hoping snoopy wakes up soon (he was up till like 5AM this morning proofing the remaining manga that's being updated with).

I don't know if any one has translated the entire manga but I do know that metroidhat.com has translations of chapters 3,4, and part of 5.

Bit of a stupid question, but what extension is the actual manga file (not the torrent)? I can't figure out what program to use for it.

this is a torrent, so you'll need bittorrent.

These are in the *.png file. I suggest using irfanview to view the manga if you're not using the MdB's manga viewer.

It's only 20MB, and the torrent's still healthy, so it takes about just as long either way.

I've also been looking at the files in Windoze Explorer using filmstrip mode. I've discovered this to be quite convenient.

Hm...I think this is where my confusion is. I downloaded the torrent and then downloaded the file from the torrent, and I'm assuming it was complete because it was listed at "100%" on BitTorrent. However, the file is only listed as a "File" and the header can't be read by any program, including IrfanView. I should also note that the file is 19,359 KB.

Does anyone have an idea? Thank you again.

The file comes down as a .zip file. Is it showing the right extension? i'm BT'ing it now to see what's up if anything. In the meantime, you may want to try capcom's link above for fileplanet's direct download.

Right here, however this is the untranslated japanese version. I don't think there is a manga veiwer for the english version yet, mostly because it isn't finished.

Chapter 3 editing has been completed. This chapter is currently awaiting release. The next release should be Wednesday or Thursday, I'll update when it has been posted.

I also updated the links for Chapters 1 and 2, they are now available both by the MDb via Fileplanet, or the Direct Link at the beginning of the forum.

Chapter 4 has been scanned and posted for translation. The way it's been going, it'll definetly be on a 1 1/2 to 2 week release schedule, mainly on my lack of time. The translator is doing an awesome job getting these back to me and I've been very pleased with the quick response.

Hopefully people will enjoy chapter three as this will be a lot of new information for a lot of people

well the release date got pushed back. Some of the other translators/editor's didn't have there stuff ready and so there wasn't enough to release *looks over at wife* *cough*

so anyhow, I finished cleaning chapter 4 as well, and I'm just waiting for snoopy to check over the translation for accuracy and grammar such. If they do that sometime today or tomorrow, i may have another chapter ready by there next release after this one.

You can expect chapter 3 late tonight or tomorrow morning. I'll post linkage when there up and I'm sure an admin will follow closely with a fileplanet DL, for the non bittorrenters. <-- that word so does not exist.

I'll probably be scanning chapter 5 this weekend and working on that next week. I'll be on vacation next thur-sunday but that shouldn't be a problem with chapter 4 since i'm halfway through it already. just need the words XD. The release after that may take a little longer if I don't have a chance to clean it while i'm on vacation, but we'll see how that pans out.
