The only thing we really know for sure at this point is that she doesn't use it during her most notable missions. We have yet to truly see how she behaves when not on a mission and out in the public, aside from the brief instance shown at the end of Other M (in which she was still in the GFed HQ, so modesty is likely a must) and the little candid shots of her at bars and in the city in the endings of Zero Mission.

Besides, it's hard to utilize the assets of your sexuality when they are completely hidden under a heavily-armored/armed Power Suit. I highly doubt, though, that she doesn't make use of her looks to some degree when she has a mission that requires actual detective work (as in: interrogating people in a non-threatening manner) in a non-hostile environment, or when trying to get good deals on equipment.

Yes, eyes would be drawn to Samus since she would stand out; however, being drawn to her ass, breasts or both is completely the choice of the player.

In these scenes, not only her femenity is the highlight of the take (being centered, in the first plane, etc), also there is not much else to look at, maybe the weird symbol on her back...

Off: I just have remembered brawl's ZSS intro cinematic in the Subspace Emissary. Talk about unnecessary rear views...

Also, I wonder why no one here is thinking about what Sakamoto will do to the Fusion Suit.

I could also close my eyes and not look at the scene at all, but her lower back side is still main objects on those movies regardless of what I choose to see. I cant take these cutscenes seriously anymore.

Well technically we all know that she really doesn't 'use it', she's a fictional character and she only 'does' what her creators have her do. It's obvious (to me anyways) that her creators do take advantage of her sexuality. They'd be crazy not to, especially knowing that the overwhelming majority of their target market with this character is young males. I was just trying to say that I don't feel there's anything wrong with that - and I'm female, btw. It just makes sense to me to put her in a tight zero suit. It's subtle enough since she's usually depicted in a far less revealing suit, but by creating that suit/image they are just doing some smart marketing, imo.

Why even have an awkward upward angle shot to feature her butt at all?

It could have easily been a shot from behind Adam with the camera looking down at Samus, without showing her ass.

I mean, look at Spoony's joke-review of FFX, and how many "ASS SHOTS" there are. Yeah, they're not intentional, but they build up and get annoying.

The angle is the problem, but they're trying to show the whole defiance thing. A better way to do that would be from the side with Adam up top and Samus standing underneath. Same shot, no ass shot.

You know what I JUST noticed about that shot. Anthony. He's got his hands on the rails there, sorta like he's anxious or something. And the stark difference in color between his and Adam's outfits (white and black). And he's looking directly at Samus while Adam isn't. Very strange.

Maybe they should create Big Suit Samus next Metroid game, with the way the past few posts have been, it should be the perfect fit for this series. It'll look something like this:

Of course, adjust it so that that much coverage is done on a person Samus's size. That would prevent ass shots and breasts shots from ever happening.

As much as I endorse this statement, I feel that the populace would more readily welcome a game in which we can only see through Samus' eyes; such as some sort of first-person shooter, or more like a first-person adventure. They'd never have to ever worry about accidentally witnessing the game's heroine unless the developers were cruel enough to decorate the game's landscape with mirrors.

Not mention that the folks at the Brawl Vault have those that want a Samus less focused on her looks covered:
