Let's shave it down ever further, shall we. Still refusing to glitch or tool assist (except rerecord.)

:rmg: Hey! Hey, punk! Is that how you treat a lady?! You got no style! I got a lesson to teach you bout subtlety. COME ON!!!

Hey right on, that's not bad at all. You're on your way.

Thanks for the positive encouragement. It's been three months since my last, and I just did a couple runs, you know, to knock a little of that rust off. The times were 02:12 and 02:01, respectively. I hope to consistently hit below 2 hours.

And, if I can get ZSNES to record video, I can make an instructional video of how to beat Super Metroid in 2 hours or less. :metroid:

This one ended up being my 02:01 run. I hope to do a bit better.

Grab a Pro, if you can. It's a much better controller.

You can also use your regular good old NES or SNES controllers on the Wii if you get one of these from Retro:

As for fastest time on Super Metroid, I've done 1:30

My best 100% time is 1:02. Just tried an any% run for the first time in forever, I go for 100% about 99% of the time, and I got a 0:51 with 48%. Gotta work on that cuz it stinks.

That's one possibility. Another is an official SNES-styled Classic Controller available from Nintendo's stars catalogue loyalty... thingy scheme in Europe. Pricy as far as stars are concerned (7,000, when registering Wii games gives you a base 250 and DS games a base 200) but I'm almost there.

Weirdly, I just wish they'd do something similar in a N64 controller. Using an analogue stick for the C-buttons is not an ideal situation, neither is using X, Y, and Zr.

for 100% i think it was just over 4 hours. any% i have beaten it in around 2:25. first time ever playing, i got 10:09.

when i finished earlier today, i got 125%. i love the reset glitch. :D
Contrary to popular belief, Samus Aran is more awesome than Chuck Norris.
