Damn you black space pirates! (Help)

So! After really enjoying the Hard mode version of Metroid Zero Mission, and finally defeating Mecha-Ridley, I find myself getting killed. A lot. In the final room of the game. Even with most of the energy tanks in the game, I can only take for or five hits before dying.

Is there any decent strategy for killing the two black space pirates guarding the escape pod without getting touched or shot four or five times and dying? I know they're immune to missiles, super missiles, power bombs and screw attack.

I really don't want to have to trek back for the last energy tanks, because I'm right on the verge of a Best Ending run on Hard.

It takes about 5 shots to kill just one Black Space Pirate, so keep that in mind while your playing.

Wow, that strategy worked perfectly. Thank goodness for enemy AI exploitations.

I clocked in at 1:55 with 71% so I'm really glad I didn't have to give up my attempt at beating it in less than 2 hours due to backtracking for energy tanks just to beat those two black pirates.

I remember these guys my brother had max health and perfected Mecha-Ridley so he would never get hit, but still couldn't beat those pirates.

Try using the trick in the Spaeship room in which you[spoiler]Lure the space pirates to doom by crawling up to the highest point on the right wall,wait for the pirates to get up to follow you and rapid fire his head[/spoiler]
