Now, did it "break teh canon of teh metroid series!!!!11"? Oh, it didn't? Then grow up and take a hint, because there's where original designs of pre-existing characters are good.
The cosplay on the other end of that link is definitely a cute one and makes me wanna make it an alt costume for ZSS in Brawl, but I gotta ask: What is up with your snippy comment? It seems somewhat unnecessary in context to what you posted.

It's just that there are more than enough fantards out there like that, who hate any different twists that are applied to anything in any series, because they didn't actually happen. The phrase I use to describe that mindset is "It only works/makes sense because it exists".

Generally speaking, people say they want new games, but don't want or expect any new ideas in them. If you don't expect anything to change, then why even bother wanting new games? Each franchise has to take new directions to keep marching on, after all.

I dislike that costume, I find it highly offensive.

Eh, you don't like the bunny suit? I find them beautiful tho~~ ;; *takes Jessica Nigri home* (Bah, I wish...)

Also, you're super-squeeable with your cosplays! Good job on them. <3

Ugh.
I dont get why you take a costume like Samus' that is already so revealing (in a way) and make it even more slutty. I suppose its just offensive because it immediately gets fuckloads more attention than all the cosplayers who actually made the real costume (and made it well)
Or even if she put a little thought into it. Like brawl bunny hood ears instead.
Something. Not just LOOK AT ME!!!!

She shoops way too much and she rarely does real costumes. (ie, slut pikachu, slut samus)
Yes I do have a problem with Jessica Nigri.

THAT'S "putting thought into it"? Haven't you played Zelda Majora's Mask?

Havent you played Ocarina of Time with the original bunny hood?
Still its actually something to do with Brawl, which, whether you like it or not, is where the zero suit was popularised and largely made known.
You can't bitch to me about the accuracy of the bunny hood coming from majora's mask rather than brawl when you're creaming yourself over bunny suit samus. Remind me again what game /thats/ from?

Oh, so you work for Nintendo? (Go back, see my other posts here before that)

EDIT: One thing that's certain, the Bunny Hood in Ocarina of Time was still the same again in Majora's Mask. It ended up pointless in OoT and didn't have the speed function that MM gave it.

I know she has a nasty reputation. I don't bother with gossip or rumors, but I KNOW she has a shitty rep. Her costumes are atrocious. I'm more then positive she probably doesn't even play games. She didn't bother me until she made that offensive pile of shit "QUOTEQUOTE"""SAMUS"QUOTEQUOTE""" """costume""".

She sucks Adam's....

Think of it this way: While the people that make more revealing, less accurate cosplay might be getting more attention every now and then, it's the people that put a lot of thought and effort into creating the most accurate cosplay possible (hello, resident MDb cosplayers) that are often held in much higher regard overall (especially with the people that count the most) end up being much more popular in the end. Though, this applies to most fan art in general.

@Zadra: I still don't see why you find this particular costume offensive though.

@Zero: Seconded. It's often the more revealing ones that get more attention, but hey, sex sells, right?

All I'm saying is that you're completely contradicting yourself just because you're a sucker for some random hot blonde chick in a skimpy outfit.

Go pose for playboy or something, but keep it out of the metroid fandom, Jessica.

I just think she's really manipulative in a kind of disgusting way- case in point, getting fanboy nerds to donate to her/buy her a new playstation after the old one caught on fire or something. Thats what a) insurance or b) a job is for.
And yes, she just shits all over the fandoms she cosplays from.
She's probably a lovely girl. But I hate what she does.
Sometimes I just want to see people who take time and actually make things well get recognised for once, unfortunately this doesnt happen because they're not as flashy or "difficult" or sexy costumes as others. I even feel that way when I get attention for something or other, because my costumes are the most crappily constructed things ever.
/rant
I shouldnt post on forums when I'm sick and opinionated.

As a huge nerd, and a guy, let me just say that I think it looks f*cking disgusting. I mean, good God! I am about as attracted to it as I am to being punched in the gut! (And even that is being a little generous!)

Poor lass :(

I'm indifferent about the costume to be honest, it's a bit raunchy but nothing too distasteful but it's definitely created to grab attention which she has succeeded with.

To critique the costume on it's own merits though, the chest logo seems fairly well done but the black lines look like they were drawn with felt tip pen or so. The gun is pretty nice also but I don't know if she made that or not. Beside that there isn't a lot she has made that I can comment on.

If it wasn't for that logo I wouldn't know it was meant to be Samus so I guess it is a fairly 'cheap shot' at a metroid cosplay and can see why those who have put time and effort into their own costumes would be pretty down trodden about the attention this particular costume is receiving.
