By looking at it I'd say its lucky if its even one kilometer long. It doesn't look like a huge capitol ship, I'm guessing it's probably just under one kilometer.

I wonder what the purpose of the ventral fin on the bow of the ship is. I doubt they'd design a ship with that extravagant piece for no reason. Ships must cost a ton of money to manufacture.

The Pirate Flagship looks like it is 1/4 the size of Zebes...

But the Federation managed to destroy it.

Probably with an extending dock a la Mass Effect. A tunnel, similar to the one you have to walk through to get on a plane, extends from a space station and attaches to the hull.

I didn't notice it. I just took a quick look at the concept art and remembered how it looked in Other M. Haha.

Chosen One, I wouldn't really worry about the size comparisons in the Manga... it's not exactly considered canon.

A bunch of fans on a message board don't make it so. Certain parts of it are... the Raid on K-2L for example, but other than that, so much of it differs from the actual games that a lot of people don't consider it canon. Myself included. I thought most of it was... pretty lame, unfortunately.

I don't know. It sounds relatively consistent with the story if you ask me. I'm pretty sure Nintendo said it was canon at some point, but I can't find the quote.

And, if anything, the raid on Zebes should be part of the canon, because it explains where the Chozo went, and how Mother Brain left the Chozo etc. etc., meaning the gigantic ship is in.

You only explore about a third of it, one third is just... blue bars? And the rest is unexplored. I'd say just about under a kilometer. And about the docking problem, why would it need to dock, really? It's got it's own dock. On the G.F.S Olympus, planet comes to you! But seriously, other smaller ships could be used for transport in and out.
