I suppose Samus draws energy from somewhere? Like from that pocket dimension Remnants mentioned? I suppose there could be some source of energy there.

...Or,
we could just go "Screw it, this is a videogame."

That's the thing. If she can draw energy out of nowhere to keep firing to no end, then how come she can't replenish her shielding when she isn't firing? The power beam may not require that much energy but the Plasma beam on the other hand...

Forget about Metroids, Phazon or a perpetual motion device. That arm cannon of hers is an infinite battery!

Or, maybe, this "infinite battery" is enough to power her beams, but not to replenish her shielding.

...or maybe since this game takes place centuries, if not millenia from now, and we don't have the existing technology to power that kind of energy...

We can't comprehend it right now.

So why even bother? How would it be a super advanced suit if we feeble minded 21st century humans can describe how every system works in great detail? Basic understanding is all we really need. Why ruin the mystique?

It's not about detail, just the basic. I'm not trying to explain what type of energy is being harnessed, what principles are at work, what parts are responsible, yadda yadda yadda. It's just about that priniple of "energy in, energy out"

Unknown energy source

Unknown energy requirements

Unknown energy output

Too many unknowns.

charge a charge beam, and it looks like she's "drawing in" energy (it also creates a tractor beam effect on missiles, health, etc) so...she gets it from the air?

It's possible.

She also gets energy drops from enemies.

She wears the "Power Suit", so who knows, maybe its just coursing with energy.

I WANT so say she uses spare energy but...probably not

(you're at 100% and you get more health drops from enemies, etc)

It's possible.

It's also possible that she has cartridges that power her arm cannon and can fire a certain amount of shots... a few hundred/thousand. And that whenever she gets in her ship to recharge her energy and pickups, she changes the cartridges out to be safe.

I think her shoulders are used for the Morph Ball, but then again, she can still do it when in the Power Suit
so who knows?

It's Metroid <3

Yes. Who knows what kind of science will be available then, let alone 10 years from now? It's really not worth getting a headache over.

Charged Ice/Wave/Plasma is a VERY potent Beam combo in any game really...would be nice to have it in real life
(although Plasma is heat and Ice is Ice, so I'm not sure how that would work)

Emply the oxigen to power her Cannon? I don't see what 'energy properties' oxigen has, maybe another gas?

Are you serious? Pure oxygen is highly flammable, it's why you aren't allowed to smoke in a hospital.
