There's not really much to say about my username... "Zero" is a generic option in usernames these days on the internet. I decided to follow suit, not only because I think it sounds pretty awesome, but it also gives some indication of my main in Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Zero Suit Samus), when I was very much into the competitive scene. I also like fire, and the word "flare" greatly appeals to me. It sounds elegant yet powerful at the same time. It also reminded me of the fire-based attacks from the Final Fantasy games, which my sister used to play very frequently when I was younger.
I was once torn between "Zero Flame" and "Zero Flare", but then "Zero Flare" started to sound better the more I thought about it... I even had a dream I chose that name. And besides, Bowser's soul-destroying move in Mario Party DS is called the "Zero Flame", which reduces your stars and coins to zero, in Bowser's Pinball Machine. I didn't like the idea of ripping off such a horrific attack.

^Ok, I must apologize. I misread your name as "Zero Flair," meaning bland and boring. Your explanation is much cooler. I see you in a whole new light now.

Hahaha, don't worry. I've had that once or twice on other forums. I've considered changing my username a few times because of that, but I've had this one for so long now... and I even have a sweet signature with it (and who made it, I'm no longer in contact with). I have thought of some pretty awesome usernames over the past year or so, though...

In middleschool one day we read a scholastic magazine that features a middle eastern girl named Mai Ari. I stole that name and used it for a fairy cat creature I drew. Later I began using it as an SN and attached the "squee" part. I looked up Mai Ari on a name site once and I think it meant "my gem/jewel," used as a term of endearment.
I don't think "Mai Ari" means "gem/jewel" in Arabic. (And I am Saudi, so I would know!) Anyways, since I love Ridley so much, I decided to make a name that had a similar vibe to "Omega Ridley". I once thought of a huge incarnation of Ridley while in the bathroom (Don't ask!), and thought "What is a five letter word for "giant"?", and I remembered earlier seeing a few screens of GOW3 in a game mag, and seeing the colossal boss "Kronos". And that is where the name "Kronoridley" came from!

At least from the perspective of the Space Pirates.

I've come up with many names but I guess I'm a little uncomfortable with using the same for every site for some reason. What I can remember is that at the time, I enjoyed to browse for pics of desolated, pristine, abandoned places quite a lot. It had to be something Metroid-y so I thought about things like Chozo Ruins and GFS Valhalla. Remnants.

The story behind the name I have for this forum is that I was trying to think of something different from the names everyone else had. Thus, I took the name crocomire, and it just so happened that I had the tune from the oscar meyer commercials stuck in my head, thus, Doctor Oscar Mire (or doc O. Mire) was born. The story for my name on shinesparkers is a bit more interesting, but still, it isn't that great. I'm not very creative when it comes to names

Thunderchin is actually a name I got from an ex-girlfriend of mine. This happened three years back, when she and I were dating. We were both on the cross country team, and the whole team went to Taco Bell. I got a taco, and when I was done I apparently had a cheese stain on my chin.
So my then-GF said, "There's a cheese stain on your chin." But of course the din was a but too much for me to hear correctly, and all I heard was "...cheese stain on your..." So I grabbed a napkin and wiped frantically at my cheeks.
"NO! On your chin!" she screamed. I finally heard it and wiped off my blemish...but one of the Seniors heard it differently.
"Thunderchin?!?!?!" he questioned. After straightening him out on his blunder, he suggested Thunderchin be my new nickname, and it stuck. I've been Thunderchin everywhere ever since.

As for "Thundah", you can blame The Hawk's Eye for that. Now if you see "Thunderchin", "Thunder", or "Thundah" (and one "Thundaaah") you know it's-a me, Thunderchin!

I first thought your username was like zero to the power of zero. A mathematical paradox, since zero to the power of anything is zero, but anything to the power of zero is one. Zero degrees is acceptable, too, though. As for mine... Pretty simple. "Darth" from Star Wars, and "Naner" is my name backwards.
