Re: favorite super metroid moments, items, and bossesMoments
Finding the ruins of Mother Brain's original chasis in Old Tourian. Finding an entire new series of rooms that you never knew about, like the ones under the charge beam statue. Reaching Ridley's haunt in Norfair, and watching the already creepy terrain turn into a demonic temple, complete with devilish statues and music. The hidden, one-off creatures, like the shaktool and tatorris in Maridia or the dachora and ettecoons in Brinstar. Falling into a shaft in Lower Brinstar filled with shallow water, pulsating bakground lights, carnivorous flowers, slowly advancing giant maggots...like all of my irrational fears rolled into one, and with that music in the background... Items Speed booster, because it is the speed booster. Spring ball, as it makes traveling in morphball form much less annoying and time-consuming. Wave beam. Just love the concept. Bosses Aside from Ridley, most of the Super Metroid bosses left me pretty underwhelmed. Super Metroid's one flaw, imo, is that its bosses are too few and too easy. Though I do like the tourizos. |

Re: favorite super metroid moments, items, and bossesMoments:
Running into Spore Spawn for the first time. (I've had a couple nightmares about the thing.) Making Ridley drop the hatchling in Ceres Station. Running into the Dachola and the Etecoons and figuring out the moves they teach. Saving the Dachola and the Etecoons at the end of the game. Items: Varia Suit - Always been a favorite of mine since I always thought it was an awesome effect when you picked up the item, and Varia Suit Samus is the most iconic ( High Jump Boots - Because I felt like a tard when I found them and thought I somehow needed to bomb jump through a tiny hole in the wall to get in and out. And then I realized that more of the wall broke. Grapple beam - OMGSOUSEFUL. Bosses: Ridley - He's a badass. I've always liked him. Torizo - Was a fun fight when I was a noob at the game and didn't realize that you could shoot missiles at him. Mother Brain, part 2 - even if she's easy, I love beating her down with the hyper beam. It feels oddly gratifying. (Phantoon was always the most obnoxious boss for me, so he's my least favorite. The rest of the bosses were like.. bleh.) |

Re: favorite super metroid moments, items, and bossesMoments
#1 - The opening intro. It kinda brings Samus down to your level with a quick rundown of her day. Really sets the tone for the events to come. #2 - The ending. #3 - Using the Grappling Beam Trick on the Maridia Boss. I use it every single time. Items #1 - Speed Booster. The instant you use it for the first time you fall in love. Guaranteed. #2 - Grapple Beam. It might be a bit wonky, but it's pretty awesome. #3 - X-Ray Visor. A necessary tool if you're going for 100% and are unaware of the map layout. Bosses #1 - Kraid. He's the biggest boss in the gam. #2 - Ridley 1. Why a tutorial fight? Because you can win it if you have the skills, obviously. Even the strongest of people can have their faith broken. Mine has.

Re: favorite super metroid moments, items, and bossesFavorite Moments:
1) I LOVED the part when you enter Old Tourian early in the game. I just wish that they had included a little more of the original map through Brinstar and Norfair just for nostalgia. 2) When you Powerbomb the glass tube connecting Brinstar and Maridia. I really enjoy the sound of broken glass. 3) The creepy music that plays upon entering into Tourian. It gives a great and ominous atmosphere for the upcoming finale. Favorite Items: 1) Number one has to be the Screw Attack. It is the perfect weapon for the Ultimate Warrior. 2) Speed Booster. It makes navigation so much quicker. Nuff said. 3) Varia Suit. I like the color scheme and the suit upgrade rocks. Favorite Bosses: 1) Ridley for the difficulty. 2) Kraid for the potential and nostalgia. |

When you pull off a sequence break. (It is hard (because the game was made to be linear), but very rewarding) Items: Reserve tanks and Grapple beam Boss: Kraid Click here to sign the petition to unban Zknight7126 from M2K2

Re: favorite super metroid moments, items, and bossesFavorite Moment Ever: Tasing the shit out of Draygon with the Grapple Beam. Sure, it may cost you some health, but its fun to do.

Re: favorite super metroid moments, items, and bossesFav boss: Ridley. You just cant get rid of him. He's appeared in all of the games but Metroid 2 and prime 2(but even in prime 2 he was supposed to be there. It was going to be an ing-possesed version of him)

Re: favorite super metroid moments, items, and bossesMoments:
1. Burnin' Draygon to crisp. Fun times. 2. Gettin' the Plasma Beam. Items: 1. The Screw Attack, hands down. 2. The Speed Booster. 3. Space Jump. Bosses: 1. Ridley was pretty fun, honestly. The only challenging fight. "Of course, missiles are off-limits." -Samus Aran

Re: favorite super metroid moments, items, and bossesI am making a Super Metroid hack, I should actually put off the main bosses as the last ones, make them more powerful, and line them up all before Tourian. Sounds like an awesome way to handle them, I will probably make it so Kraid is really hard. I need to make it up to him all the times the giant lizard is an unrealistic pushover.
