Which One Should I Buy?

Im confused. Should I get the PS3, which has a very solid library, with new compilation games coming out, or should I go and be an Early Adopter of the 3DS and get the free games? Ive already got $226, so im set there. Please, not a lot of "its all a matter of preference"-type posts. I would really appreciate post that would be sort of saying what the value of each is compared to the other.
Edit: if a moderater or admin were to stumble across this topic, would they please either move it to the general videogames discussion board, or delete this topic. I did it on my dsi, and i forgot to check which section of the forum i was posting on. (ive only made one slghtly succesful topic, so i didnt know that new topic put a topic in that section. sorry)

As an owner of both systems, I'd say both are great.

If you buy the PS3, you have to remember that it comes with no games, so you'll have to buy something before it becomes useful. It does have a pretty solid library of games, and you can find most of its best games for $30 or under thanks to the Greatest Hits collection.

Buying a 3DS now, you have the advantage of becoming an ambassador and getting 20 games for free, which is a pretty nice deal. Not to mention you can get some other good games (in particular, Link's Awakening DX) for a low price on the eShop, and it supports the DS's robust library of cheap games. Even if you've played all or most of those games, there are some great 3DS titles coming in the near future.

Out of curiosity, what other systems do you have? If you already have a 360, I think the 3DS is the way to go. Regardless, I think the main question is whether you prefer portable gaming or a console experience.

Thx Naner. I think im going to get a ps3. Does anyone know what any of the 20 games are besides fusion? I only have a wii and a dsi for games that come out now.

If you have a DSi, I guess the 3DS isn't much of a leap. In my case, my previous portable was a DS phat, so the 3DS really helped a lot.

We only know ten of the twenty games: for NES we have Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Balloon Fight, Donkey Kong Jr. and Ice Climber. On the GBA we have Metroid Fusion, Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Wario Ware: Mega Microgame$, Mario Kart: Advance Circuit and Mario vs. Donkey Kong. Pretty good list if you ask me.

im not sure if you are aware. maybe this will help you decide but the 3DS will be coming down in price soon to $170 I believe.
If someone can confirm the price that would be great.

Yeah, that's the price. However, buying one now isn't a bad idea, if you like the ten games they've announced.
