Least Favorite Areas in the Prime Games

Postby SheepCannon » 08.18.11 4:57pm

Just read the title. My least favorite would have to be the Agon Wastes. It's too similiar to the Agon Wastes, and gives the game a very bland first impression, when in actuallity the game is very diverse.

I would have to say....G.F.S Valhalla. This place was just really bland, and I think they should've put something else there except the most annoying thing in the game for me. Damn Metroid Hatchers.

Also, the fact that you need a fuck ton of Energy Cells to get through is just a plain No, from me. I don't know about you guys, but, this.

The Agon Wastes are similar to the Agon Wastes? Lol, who knew? ...But yeah, I know you meant to say Chozo Ruins..
Hmm.. I'd have to say my least favorite area is the Bryyo Thorn Jungle. It's just so bland...

I hated Agon wastes since I got sand in my eye.
I hated Phazon mines cause I went to pee and was slapped by a rude shadow pirate who wanted to use my face as his hump pillow. I cried alittle inside.
Vahalla I hated since I kept imaging vikings everywhere and all I got was Metroid trying to suck me dry cause I spilt Ice cream on my pants.

I can't believe I did that (I practically have OCD when it comes to that), but I actually meant Temple Grounds. I didn't find it to be very similiar to the Chozo Ruins. The Agon Wastes have that feeling of "it's a shame it was ruined, but it was never really great". The Chozo Ruins however, really show what the Leviathan did to the planet and how different it became.

Definitely Agon Wastes. That (along with poorly paced backtracking) stop Prime 2 from becoming engaging till you fight the Boost Guardian. It doesn't help that I live in Saudi Arabia, and that the similarities between them are just depressing.

At least from the perspective of the Space Pirates.

Metroid Prime

The crashed frigate was probably my least favorite part. I like the Thermal Visor and all, but having to power up the area was something I didn't care for.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

I didn't care too much for the Temple Grounds. It's too open for my taste, and the music really never got to me.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

I'd have to say Bryyo was my least favorite planet. There is so much you have to do on that planet, and it's often the last planet I return to just before heading to the G.F.S. Valhalla.

This was my least favorite area in Corruption. However, by this point, the Hatchers are cake, you just shoot 'em with Nova beam a few times in X-Ray Visor before they 'splode.

Prime: Impact Crater. The weird music is annoying, which is fitting due to the number of Fission Metroids in that huge room you have to climb just to fight Prime.

Echoes: Agon. Need I say more? Sand, uninteresting enemies (besides good ol' Shriekbats), and no great suit upgrades (I personally hate the Dark Suit, it makes her look like a football player, even moreso with the Gravity Boost).

I thought magmoor caverns sometimes became repetitive. fire and lava.
and I agree that agon wastes was a very dull opening to such a colorful game. it did not compare to torvus or sanctuary.

I liked all the areas in Prime.

In Echoes, Agon Wastes only annoyed me because of the repetitive music.

In Corruption I just could not get into the Pirate Homeworld and the Pirate Base located in Skytown.

In MP2 I think the main problem with agon is that it was so similar to the temple grounds. With it being the first of the three surrounding "worlds" you visit after chatting with U-mos, it makes the game feel like it's starting off slow and that all you can expect is more-of-the-same. Had it been distincly different, possibly with the addition of more huge open areas like the arena, or more complex, it would have been much better.
This issues was even more prevalent in the dark world version agon and the tg.
I'm rather "meh" about dark Aether in general because not only did the colors make it hard to see details and find your way, it was monotonous. Black red purple black red purple black red purple with an occasional splash of blue phazon. Dark Torvus and Sanctuary weren't too bad in this regard, but it did make me turn up the brightness and lower the contrast on my screen.

Also, with those hubcap shoulders and jumble of rounded angles meeting, the dark suit looked like it was made from an 88 Cadillac Eldorado. http://static.cargurus.com/images/site/ ... 60317.jpeg

Thorn Jungle.
I dislike the music (uninspired and slightly demotivating imo), there are hardly any pick ups and the rooms take much too long to load. The area just feels like pure tedium.
The place is especially annoying in hypermode, it feels more like a chore to me than anything else in hypermode with those stupid turrets.
