Just so everyone knows I found another "cameo." This character's name is Justin Bailey.
Now it's possible it's just a coincidence, but I kinda doubt it since we're dealing with video games here. Who knows.

Well, it seems a guy named Justin Bailey was the planning and release coordinator for God of War III. He also worked on Afro Samurai. Depending on the guy's age, we could guess his parents were big Metroid fans! Since his first work seems to be in a 2009 game, it's quite possible that he's under 25.
