The Nullify Power Suit Gun (how do you explain that one?)

Game play and story segregation. What happens during game play doesn't mean it happens that way in the story. So even if you're playing as a character who can take numerous hits and not lose the Power Suit, it's only because of game play.

I mean, she was shot by one of the beams even she has, a single shot, not chargeable, with her varia suit equipped, it completely turned off her COMBAT suit, with all of its bazillions of energy thanks, and you didn't find it even a lil bit weird?

The reason being, Samus is polished off from Metroids, right? Remember the guy that says "I gave your suit a polish, so you'd be at least somewhat presentable."

That guy did not clean ALL of the metroid data off, although it may seem that she is cleaned perfectly, everything can only be cleaned 99.9%.

00.1% is all that is needed to shut off Samus's suit if shot by Ice, as is a metroid. Cause the baby was not genetically enhanced, Samus is affected.

Does this make any sense, or anything?

No, it doesn't make sense at all. Just because she had Metroid juice on her suit at one point does not mean her suit is suddenly susceptible in any way to ice, nor would a microscopic trace of Metroid juice weaken her six foot tall suit to the point of collapse with one shot from a sidearm.

Not to mention she, you know, trudged through an entire sub-zero sector and didn't have any issues then.

I agree, it makes the most sense. She was just about to kill it, from what I got from watching the cutscene, so she must have felt plenty vulnerable and probably lost focus.

Besides, even tough, getting shot from behind couldn't possibly alter her focus, it could only at most surprise her... or even maybe get her awestruck/dumbfounded, but definately no more than that...

OH! i got it!

i'd say part of the gas released by the Ice Beam (Or even an Ice shard itself) accidentaly flew inside her suit thrusters in the impact (Located right above the impact point, 'case someone here forgot), Hitting and then short-circuiting a vital part of her suit's energy production systems, wich forced her suit to shutdown, self-repair, and then reboot.

Loss of focus makes no sense, and it already happened once in the game, but an ice shard flying in a back thruster and short circuiting her suit makes sense? I don't see it. especially considering she walks around in water and lava and there's no damage to the thruster ports.
